  1. Yeah I doubt they care much. Amaya is running a CS% (14!) that is on par with his awful offense and I haven't heard any mention of them potentially exploring that part of the market. The C production this year makes the 1B production from last year look fantastic.
  2. They have not been fooled at all. I just feel like they flat out prepare at a higher level than we do.
  3. You got a 3-1 and you swing at a cutter in the shadow zone at your knees, Christopher?
  4. They may be waiting for ISO gains. He's controlling the zone well and that's the next step in the progression.
  5. Not if you're only focused on offense, sure. However, by WAR, it surely can. Just last year Swanson and Nico barely had above-average offense and both were top 30 position players. Andres Giminez was a 4 war player with a below-average bat. If PCA plays a full season and hits league-average, he could be a 5 win player. His defense is that valuable, and he should provide a lot of value on the bases as well.
  6. Jeremiah Estrada set an MLB expansion-era record striking out 13 consecutive hitters and counting. The old record was 11. What annoys the most is that this was a guy who clearly needed a little more seasoning but it was well-documented that he had a unicorn pitch and the Cubs simply cut bait far too soon.
  7. The no stress blowout W that we have been needing for weeks
  8. I hate this ****** offense so horsefeathers much right now.
  9. Man Seiya's oblique injury looks to have sapped his ability to hit again. He's been horsefeathers awful.
  10. The Brewers position players are so much better than ours so far that it's disgusting.
  11. I'd like to know what happened to these guys that prevents them from being able to hit a slider. They are the worst team vs sliders when last year they were 5th, for instance. 2023/2024 FB - 21st w/ 2.0 runs above average / 21st with -8.6 Cut - 3rd with 14.0 / 4th with 9.0 Split - 7th with .01 / 19th with -1.2 Sink - 10th with -4.5 / 23rd with -7.9 Change - 8th with 17.5 / 16th with 1.3 Sliders - 5th with 11.9 / 30th with -16.0 Curve - 22nd with -8.4 / 12th with 2.3
  12. I honestly don't know if not starting Morel is a bad move. Do you just wait for the tide to turn with his stats/xstats? If he doesn't absolutely mash he's pretty much not helping the team.
  13. Au contraire; the opps might not have an ace-up-each-sleeve, but they likely have a Bailey Falter or a Smith-Shawyer, etc. Tired of the excuse. The Cubs haven't really hit anybody for several weeks.
  14. His ERA is 2.05 after getting beat up a bit today. The Rockies of all teams brought that K% down a little.
  15. Letting a dude go out there and strike out half the time for a month
  16. That move by Counsell is a really weird one. Not a fan at all. Why not let Brown face Kelenic and put in Wesneski for the eighties that were to follow.
  17. Probably the last time you didn't complain in a post
  18. I was coming to comment on that, saw the box and did a double take. Lit up the zone, apparently only threw 77 pitches, 54 for strikes. Definitely looks like a guy despite his age and profile. Somebody the Cubs want to get a good look at. The funky delivery actually looks effortless. I'm intrigued.
