  1. Morel should be a DH. Problem is, so should Seiya.
  2. After he finally had a noteworthy start lol
  3. Even though weve had multiple walk offs and dominant pitching performances I think this was the W of the year so far. It is extremely rare that a player makes a 3 run error and then comes back in the bottom of the inning and crushes a game-tying grand slam. Obviously that wasn't enough but the game really could have been another inexplicable disappointment. Then we got some good relief pitching and a vital player in a deep slump hit the go-ahead blast. Of course I'll be beside myself again if we lose tomorrow but this should be one of those games that gives the team a lot of confidence, a galvanizing win. Hopefully it is.
  4. The defense and base running tanking like this was totally unexpected by me. The offense has these spells every single year. They are annoying as horsefeathers but they are an annual event for whatever reason. I really have to take back my effusive praise of Counsell though. He has made a lot of decisions that I questioned when made that came back to bite us immediately. He hasn't been the finger on the pulse guy I anticipated. Hes actually been bad. I also expected Kelly to bring our offensive ebbs and flows down a notch too, so thats been surprising as well. To me, sorry to repeat myself, but I question if this team prepares for each pitcher they face on the level of the better offensive teams in the league. Some of the best lineups in the game aren't star-studded but they don't have enormous weaknesses up and down like we do and they avoid those long valleys IMO. Too often we just look unprepared and get dominated. They are just not built to combat the stuff that dominates the league these days.
  5. Why are we wasting our time with Teheran? It makes me so nervous he's gonna get a spot start or two for no reason at all. Like just cut him loose lol
  6. They continue to believe that just making contact is all that is needed. I would bet he has a 10 wRC+ in his Cubs career in high leverage situations. He should absolutely not be on the roster anymore.
  7. He got to 3rd and rounded the corner as the ball was fielded in the infield and the 2B threw behind him for an easy out. It's just inexplicable. It's by far the sloppiest base running team that I can recall. They continuously make the most idiotic decisions.
  8. I can't take this anymore. This team is a horsefeathers show.
  9. He horsefeathers chases everything. Release him already!
  10. This offense had some good excuses when they were facing good SP but this has gone on too long. They horsefeathers suck and that's all there is to it. Play no doubles defense and they will beat themselves.
  11. The worst baserunning Cubs team I can recall. Getting in scoring position is good too.
  12. Man Chris, go with that slider and we have at least 1 run if not 3
  13. I never wanted to get rid of him but he was horsefeathers awful man. 15 games in a row without an XBH will make most people antsy. horsefeathers, PCA gave that one a good ride. Son of a bitch.
  14. Agreed completely. Megill and Hudson aren't really bothering me because of the gap between their success and their time with the Cubs. Hudson was just always seen as a huge disappointment since we drafted him. He wasn't on anyone's top 50. Megill's time in our organization was a tiny blip in his professional career and came at a time when we just wanted any semblance of velocity basically, and since we couldn't help him harness any of his secondaries, his fastball got annihilated and he gave up 9 HR in 40 IP as a 27 y/o nobody. Easy to move on from that. But Estrada, even with the troubles he showed last year, should have been given a longer leash, IMO. Too young and productive to just wash your hands of. I'm sure there were other cuts that could have been made.
  15. HR rate was way down in the MLB when I last saw the report a couple weeks ago. They need to stop horsefeathers with the ball every damn year. It's insane that they made the changes to try to open up the offense amid a time where pitchers are unleashing the nastiest pitches ever and then deadened the ball. It's mind-boggling how they can be so stupid.
  16. Shaw's surge has brought him back up to a 132. Now I'd like to see Triantos break out of his slump. Since 5/10 he has hit 203/228/230. Mo is also in a little slump, hasn't had an XBH in 2 weeks.
  17. Hoping they help him round out his offensive game and get to his pull power. He hits a ton of batter balls to RF.
  18. I can. They just had an A+ off-season and drafted a generational QB.
