He's good for that 4 or 5 times a game. Just seemingly gets careless and catches too much plate.

Let him work through it. He's a much better hitter than he's shown so far. Some of the best prospects in the game have been completely disrespected by the big leaguers, ie Holliday and Crews. Personally I would have a much longer leash.

I watched the condensed game last night and MLB inexplicably put 2-3 minutes of the on-field conversation crap in there and it's cut-up and disjointed and absolutely nothing close to enlightening or entertaining.

Bummed as horsefeathers about this. We can still win the division but I doubt this spurs Jed to do something now. He's a wait and see type. I just hope we don't see all of our internal options fall flat. -

The offense has been completely punchless against these guys. It's time for Happ to start his season. His quality of contact has been abysmal so far. The lack of slug from our young hitters is pretty glaring.

Pete Alonso is having an insane start to the season. 8:5 BBK, 400 ISO, and neutral defense. Proving doubters such as myself wrong in every way possible. -
1 point of contention: He has an 8.8% walk rate and 80 pts between his BA and OBP stateside. 85 wRC+ is bad but for PCA, if he plays at that pace all year he's a 5 win player. Bottom line remains the same - his ceiling is insane. He just looks like he's guessing up there and getting embarrassed in the cat-and-mouse game. Not sure why he dumped the leg kick; he looks out of sorts.

Jed would be a fool to let him go to FA if he's amenable to an in-season extension. Meet his price. You haven't really constructed a roster that can withstand his departure. Pay that man his focking mahnee

Damn. Seems like a 60 day is a real possibility. Brown needs to get his horsefeathers together, hopefully Assad comes back and can eat some innings with Rea. I suspect we will see some Horton as they work guys in and out. That could be fun 🤷♂️

Don't try to get a discount, Jed. This is a potential 10 WAR player that will far outpace the 45 AAV he deserves for the nest few years and has a skillset that will age like fine wine. Pay the motherfucker.

Hope Rea can hold the fort. The Cubs are pretty good about proactively shutting guys down and avoiding catastrophic injuries. They haven't exactly had power arms but whos the last SP to go down to TJ in-season? I'm optimistic they accomplish that again.

I'm more annoyed that the Cardinals have a better offense than ours so far and their young guys seem to hit the ground running, Wynn aside. I know - strength of schedule - but it's a little annoying. They're supposed so suck. The Cubs are in hyperspeed with that BsR though. Do you guys realize that PCA is playing at a 4-5 win pace with a 72 wRC+? Cubs should see if he's open to an extension. From a war perspective, his ceiling is absolutely enormous and his floor ain't so shabby either.

Hodge has very quietly blown consecutive appearances. We just do not have lockdown relievers. Merryweather got rocked too. Really frustrating.

They are playing exceptionally well. Padres still have only 2 losses, the Rangers came into the series 9-2. 2 huge blown leads have tarnished an otherwise fantastic start to the season.
