Statcast says 35%, fangraphs says 21%. The best thing hes done is limit hard contact. I feel like hes gotten quite a bit lucky.

Nitpicking but Palencia really doesn't. Hitters have a 78% contact rate vs him and he's not getting anywhere near the chase this year as he has prior. He's kind of just a guy who throws hard and has gotten fortunate with the contact. His stuff rates well but maybe he doesn't tunnel effectively; hitters have not had much difficulty with him.

Seiya reached base just twice, on singles, over the last 7 days. His OPS dropped by 100+ pts.

In my 35 years of watching the Cubs and 25 of which was fervently, I can say without a doubt that he has the best arm we've ever had out there. And to think that he is ALSO the greatest defender we've ever had in CF is crazy. The speed guys rarely have a cannon, you might see some flashes. With PCA it's like every time he is tested he has a legitimate shot to snuff the attempt. Base hits up the middle with a runner on 2B used to be damn near automatic runs. Btw, his arm is another big whiff by the scouting community.

He is just not getting to his power this year. He has 1 HR and 3 doubles and I'm pretty sure 2 of those weren't even well-struck. His EV is 85 and his LA is 4.4... in AAA. 31% hard-hit. Nothing like the guy he was last year. Something is still not right.
