  1. Hey, it's a quality show... Actually, I've never watched a full episode of Cops and only seen parodies, but the intro song is catchy. [bbvideo=640,360] [/bbvideo]
  2. [tweet] [/tweet] I bet the BFIB are taking this news really hard right now. Angels should probably cut him loose and acquire a better 1B if they want to keep Trout from leaving in a couple years. Also making the playoffs would help.

  4. Why don't we just release Kintzler? He's not making the postseason roster and I doubt we'll use him much next month except for cleanup duty. I'm sure we can trade for a better reliever.
  5. Brewers lost 9-7. I hate the Cardinals more, but if the Brewers miss the playoffs I'll be mighty pleased. In an ideal world both teams miss the playoffs, but that probably isn't happening.
  6. I think Caratini is getting traded this offseason. Nice try Theo & Jed, but he isn't going to magically turn into a valuable asset.
  7. The two-handed swing (or finish on the swing) looks so weird for KB. I do like it and hopefully it leads to more power. I can't see it leading to more power, he's already at a 70 power so there isn't much room for growth there. It's going to change the bat angle as he'll finish on a more level than finishing higher. If he hits more line drives with a less uppercut swing, he should get more contact and hopefully the exit velo remains similar with expected less HRs but more 2Bs. Yeah, I agree his true game power and raw power is a 70 grade (maybe an 80), but for whatever reason his power is down this season. You should hit for more power in theory with a two-handed swing from what I was taught, but I agree he should hit more line drives now with a less pronounced uppercut. The uppercut is what leads him to finish with a one-handed swing or one-and-half handed swing. It should allow him to go to the opposite field more often as well.

  9. I'm going to be pissed if we lose this game 1-0. horsefeathering umps

  11. I almost guarantee the new TV deal will give the Cubs more than an extra 100 mil per year. Maybe substantially more. The Cubs are a huge draw and I think the fanbase is only getting larger.
  12. [tweet] [/tweet] I'm kind of shocked by how physically mature some of these kids are. I'm all in on the Rece Hinds train. He could be the next Giancarlo Stanton/Aaron Judge.
  13. Hmm, this lineup is something... Bote batting ninth is dumb. Why is Caratini fifth? I'm not saying Drinky Joe needs to go to rehab like Ben Affleck, but I'm definitely concerned.
  14. Well, he's done a good job so far. I can't really tell if he's a competent manager or if the Cardinals are just playing well after getting rid of Matheny.
  15. Seriously? Maddon's job in jeopardy? The only Cubs manager to win a WS in our collective lifetimes? The guy who is averaging 97 wins per season since he got here?
  16. I know we all dislike Daniel Murphy, but I think trading for him has really made a difference. I think acquiring Chapman was worse.
  17. Man, Duensing sucks even at AAA. Gave up 3 ER and struck out 0 in 2/3 of an inning. The prospect pitching on the other side (Josh Staumont) might be the next great closer someday in KC. He struck out 5 and walked 0 and has a great arm. I really liked him back in the 2015 draft.
  18. :flythew: Good Win. Our bats are starting to come alive finally.
  19. I noticed the same thing. Some guys just struggle to release the ball from a consistent release point like Arrieta. The delivery seems fine and I think his fastball ticks up as a reliever. He sometimes rushes his delivery. He seems pretty athletic overall with a quick arm. I don't think he's going to add much more muscle unfortunately. His frame could handle more, but I doubt it happens.
  20. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] Bote is a beast. His dongs are special.
  21. It's not that... The FO (I believe) is more worried about the number of games in a row without a day off. You get burned out playing everyday and it takes its toll. Good news is KB should be returning soon and be fresh and the roster is about to expand. Not too big a worry.
  22. Oh man, don't let the BFIB see this. Just confirms their conspiracy theory that Dexter is a Cubs' plant inside their clubhouse.
  23. I think we hope he becomes what we were hoping for from Chatwood I'm pretty sure Thompson has better stuff than Chatwood and will end up being a reliever (if his control develops enough). He has incredible stuff. He's hit 100 mph and has a great arm. He could end up being our Craig Kimbrel/Trevor Rosenthal if his control/command improves and takes a big leap.
