  1. I haven't researched enough to know the drop off of talent but I feel one impact defender will be there at our spot . Not sure about 30 and I'd rather get the impact guy. Yeah 30 would probably be too far. Probably miss out on all of Ealy, Nix, Ford, Hageman, Clinton-Dix, Pryor, Gilbert, Dennard, and maybe even Aaron Donald. I'm with you guys. I don't want to trade down for that reason (unless it's just incredible value). I could see something crazy like 49ers giving up their own first 3 round picks to move up to 14th (and Bears giving up like their 5th rounder) and grabbing someone like Mike Evans possibly. 49ers would still have a 2nd and 3rd so they can afford to give up those picks. The chances of that happening is like .01% unless it's someone like Watkins or Barr instead of Evans where they'll overpay to move up. I agree with you guys. Get that impact talent. If I want to trade down, I think I would target somewhere in the 18-24 range where you get a 3rd. If Cleveland is willing to give up their 26th/35th pick or 49ers want to give up 3 picks then I'll have to think long and hard about it.
  2. He doesn't like the cold yet he plays for Seattle? Or is he just saying he had no choice last off-season but go there and will go somewhere "warm" this off-season? it's not very cold in seattle Oh interesting. I just checked the weather/climate for Seattle. I knew Chicago is colder, but not that much colder in winter months.
  3. He doesn't like the cold yet he plays for Seattle? Or is he just saying he had no choice last off-season but go there and will go somewhere "warm" this off-season?
  4. Isn't he a 3-4 guy? Yes at the NFL level, but I'm not about when he was at the college level.
  5. Why do they need to question it when they know to take it with a grain of salt (a big one at that) already? Dude is a respected poster over there and they have questioned him before. It's just tiring for a lot of posters that have known ABTY for years now. They just like it because it's something to talk about or it's different. While he doesn't have any "direct" inside source (like Marlin does), he does talk to scouts (mainly Royals since he used to worked for them or covered them as a reporter- can't remember which) and the likes. He just relays what they say so it's the case of "he's hearing from this scout who heard from another scout who heard it straight from that organization source". It's 2nd hand stuff. What's the problem is since it's going through at least 2 people, the whole thing might be wrong by the time it gets to ABTY. What one person hears might be totally different or forgot some key stuff that the person actually said. So when he posts as much as he has, the odds are going to be very poor that he's right, but he does get some things right though. He does get some craziness/off the wall stuff that makes you wonder. It was weird how they went after you though. I'm still looking for the actual ABTY post that started it all. Do you know what page it's on? I'm also convinced that's why Marlin rarely ever shows up anymore on PSD.
  6. Two things stick out for me 1st is when he went to Crabtree after the INT. No need to kick a man while he's down and you know that's exactly what he was doing. He basically admitted it from his post game interviews. Same thing with the choke. That's high school maturity level right there. That picture gives zero context and yes you are being a homer for bringing that up. Crabtree is a spoiled brat and he acted like it as well. Sherman didn't stop after Crabtree either. What about this picture? http://larrybrownsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/richard-sherman-choke.jpg 2nd is his "getting caught up in the moment". It wasn't. There was a minute left in the game and 49ers called 2 timeouts. Sherman had plenty of time to calm down/gather himself. It wasn't like that was the very last play and Erin Andrews came up to him like 20 secs later. I don't have a problem with what he said (talking crap about Crabtree/Kaep/whoever else) and being honest/cocky. It was how it came across. He made Erin Andrews uncomfortable. You know it's bad when you make the interviewer uncomfortable enough that she cut the interview short. It was just poorly executed, bad sportsmanship, and very childish all rolled into one IMO. Did he even thank/talk about the organization/city/fans/teammates/etc in his post game interviews? All I remember is him yelling about Crabtree, the choke was for Kaep, and then Peyton Manning/Super Bowl. I agree with you on the 2nd half of the 2nd part. As for the 3rd part, you're wrong. Sure it's legal in Washington NOW and not PED related, but it wasn't when they got caught (I could be totally wrong as I'm not sure when that was passed). Also it wouldn't matter if it's legal because NFL says it is illegal. It's like taking a drug test at work. They can still suspend/fire/etc you if you got tested positive even though it's now legal. You still have to comply with the rules and Browner/Thurmond didn't. EDIT: I don't hate Sherman. If fact, I like him a lot and wish he was on the Bears. I just think he could've handled the whole thing a lot better. Dude is extremely smart and knows how to push buttons or let everyone know what's up. He done a lot off the field as well. I've heard that he wants to go in announcing after he retires and that's awesome IMO. The way he ripped Skip Bayless was amazing. It's why I'm disappointed in the way he acted because of all that. Perception is reality and all that stuff.
  7. Priapism? It's not funny, believe me! The girl of my dreams lives under my own roof, but she thinks I'm just a kid, a dumb jock, all of which is more or less true. I'm dying, Mr. Tanneran, just like that girl in the poem... only quicker, and with a hard-on.
  8. that is pretty awesome Please tell me we can buy this jersey soon... Heck, any of those throwbacks really. Except for the Cuba one.
  9. So I had my best score ever on first-pick.com... 12th in Bears top 20 score Your score is: 4764 (Drafting Ability: A, Player Quality A-, Future Draft Picks: N/A) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 14: Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA (A) Round 2 Pick 14: Hasean Clinton-Dix, FS, Alabama (A) Round 3 Pick 14: Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh (A) Round 4 Pick 14: Bryan Stork, C, Florida State (A) Round 5 Pick 14: David Fales, QB, San Jose State (A) Round 6 Pick 7: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska (A) Round 6 Pick 14: Jalen Saunders, WR, Oklahoma (A) Yeah... that just happened.
  10. WPS!!! I'm excited about the future as well. If only I was still in school there so I can watch this team in person for the next couple years.
  11. New mock draft from first-pick.com again... This time around, I traded the 14th pick to 49ers for their 1st (30th), 2- 2nd (23rd/30th), and a 3rd (11th). I feel like Bears will have to give up a 4th or 5th round pick if this was real, but maybe 49ers will be that desperate. They ended up getting Mike Evans with that pick. Really like how this mock draft came out from the Bears POV. Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 30 (S.F.): Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri (Doubtful, but the 1st round of this mock draft was umm... odd. Sankey/Tre Mason/Seastrunk all went plus a couple other questionable picks so Ealy slid all the way here.) Round 2 Pick 14: Loucheiz Purifoy, CB, Florida Round 2 Pick 23 (S.F.): Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh Round 2 Pick 30 (S.F.): Ahmad Dixon, SS, Baylor Round 3 Pick 11 (S.F.): Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State Round 3 Pick 14: Dominique Easley, DT, Florida Round 4 Pick 14: Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss (While I don't think they would go WR here, I really couldn't figure out who Emery would draft at this point. Maybe an offense pick like QB/RB/OL?) Round 5 Pick 14: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska Round 6 Pick 7: Ryan Carrethers, DT, Arkansas State Round 6 Pick 14: Colt Lyerla, TE, Oregon I also have a question for you guys... It's about potential trades during draft. Lets say with the 14th pick, Emery has 3 guys that he rated similarly or none that he's crazy about and 2 teams calls him about trading that 14th pick. One is the 49ers package above and the other is lets say... Eagles 1st/2nd/3rd (22nd pick in all 3). Which one would you take? Is the 8 picks in the 1st worth more than getting that extra 2nd? Just curious as to where you guys would draw the line in saying... "Ok. That extra pick is worth more than so and so."
  12. Several years ago, Texas got Davis from Bama. They let Davis go with the coaching change this year and brought in Chris Rumph also from Bama. When this happened Davis bolted USC to go back to Bama. At the same time Texas brought in Tommie Robinson from USC. Not a couple of days for USC. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/24408940/dl-coach-bo-davis-jumps-from-usc-to-alabama-after-one-week-on-the-job I'm still trying to figure out ajax's explanation. I don't even know what I was typing at the end. Not a good couple of days for USC???
  13. I'm ok with this if you really want to give Tucker another chance. I wouldn't have, but maybe this means they might be looking for DL/LB coaches who have done both 4-3/3-4? I'm not sure if Phair/Tibesar have, but something to think about. What's interesting is Tibesar was one of the guys that came with Trestman.
  14. Rodgers Podlesh
  15. probably there was a question as to whether there was a forward pass by the punter. There was also an injured player on the field and looks like they waited a little bit.
  16. No he's just finally getting consistent snaps for the first time in his pro career. I've said it before, but if he played for a rush first team he could be a 1500 yard guy. He's still not really getting consistent snaps. He looks better, faster, and cuts are sharper and making defenders miss this year more than in '10 or '11. I thought '10/'11 Ingram looks like this year's Trent Richardson and this year he looks more like Eddie Lacy. Did Ingram lose any weight this year? I feel like that's what Richardson needs to do this offseason. Lose about 20 lbs and get a little bit of the elusiveness/speed back.
  17. So did Ingram took roids like a month ago? It's a completely different player out there.
  18. Man.. he would've fit in well if he went to Arkansas instead. Haha
  19. Your score is: 4668 (Drafting Ability: A, Player Quality A, Future Draft Picks: N/A) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 14: Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA (A) Round 3 Pick 2 (WASH): Deone Bucannon, SS, Washington State (A) Round 3 Pick 6 (ATL): Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington (A) Round 3 Pick 14: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State (A) Round 4 Pick 14: Bryan Stork, C, Florida State (A) Round 5 Pick 2 (WASH): Marqueston Huff, FS, Wyoming (A) Round 5 Pick 14: Tajh Boyd, QB, Clemson (A) Round 6 Pick 7: Demarcus Lawrence, DE, Boise State (B) Round 6 Pick 14: Ricardo Allen, CB, Purdue (A-) This score is 15th on Bears top 20 scores. I traded the 2nd for the 2- 3rd and the 5th.
  20. Your score is: 4468 (Drafting Ability: A, Player Quality A, Future Draft Picks: N/A) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 30 (S.F.): Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri (A-) Round 2 Pick 14: Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota (A) Round 2 Pick 16 (BALT): Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington (A) Round 2 Pick 21 (G.B.): Kyle Van Noy, OLB, Brigham Young (A) Round 2 Pick 28 (N.E.): Louchiez Purifoy, CB, Florida (B+) Round 3 Pick 14: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State (A) Round 4 Pick 3 (JAX): Dion Bailey, FS, Dion Bailey, FS, Southern California (A) Round 4 Pick 14: Bryan Stork, C, Florida State (A) Round 4 Pick 28 (N.E.): Tajh Boyd, QB, Clemson (A) Round 4 Pick 32 (SEA): Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss (A) Round 5 Pick 14: Jaylen Watkins, CB, Florida (B+) Round 6 Pick 7: James White, RB, Wisconsin (A) Round 6 Pick 14: Ryan Carrethers, DT, Arkansas State (A) Traded down from 14 to 16 to 21 to 28 then finally 30 and no more trades after that. If only this was real...
  21. LOL I came up with this... 14- OT GREG ROBINSON AUBURN 51- TE AUSTIN SEFERIAN-JENKINS WASHINGTON 82- DE JACKSON JEFFCOAT TEXAS 113- S DION BAILEY USC 144- RB DE’ANTHONY THOMAS OREGON 167- DE AARON LYNCH USF 175- C GABE IKARD OKLAHOMA Too much offense for my liking. While a few defensive guys I wanted went right before me in the first 2 rounds, Greg Robinson and Seferian-Jenkins are just too good to pass up. Plus, you're right UK. Very flawed rankings.
  22. That said, my offseason outlook did just change...... I now expect to keep 2 of Wootton, Melton, and Ratliff. Plus add a top tier S in FA, one of Byrd, Ward, or Whitner AND one of Johnson, Bennett, or Joseph as well. Along with no issues in keeping Britton, Bowman, DJ, Garza, McCown, and Collins. All this means is Emery can get even more creative now. Cutler is probably the only one where they will lower his cap hit if they need to. Slauson/Jennings/etc don't make enough to really matter IMO. It also means Peppers isn't a lock to be cut. Bears could end up with Johnson and keep Peppers. I do think they would be able to check off a lot of their wish list if Peppers is cut and they convert like 14 mil of Cutler's base this year into signing bonus. What's really nice this can end up being a pretty good FA class (still have to wait on tags and see who gets re-signed by their team) on the defensive side so Bears could really take advantage of that with their flexible cap space.
  23. I prefer to keep him around another year for continuity. Briggs only has 1 more year left so just keep him and let him go after next year. Hopefully Bostic will be ready to slide in and produce.
