i never buy any sports apparel, but i bought the grey hoodie from mlbshop.com. the blue one looks cooler, but i don't think i'd really wear it.

yesterday the world series win began to sink in a little bit. today the way we won it is starting to sink in. the cubs winning the world series was always going to be amazing no matter how it happened, but we ended up getting it to happen in one of the most amazing ways possible. the 103 wins, the young controlled core, the likable bff players, the 9th inning comeback to beat even year bs, a series comeback (after we looked dead) to win the pennant at home against kershaw, mother [expletive] shwarber, a 3-1 world series comeback (!), and then a wild game 7 win. even at the end, the blown lead in the 8th only served to give us a wonderful contrast to what immediately followed. got damn

this is so bizarre to watch. i remember everything about it, and i remember how ridiculously unrealistic our expectations were. looking back on it, it seems odd that we were THAT excited over new management. it felt like a historical shift before he even made his first move. then he just kind of just casually fulfilled our absurd demands in the exact amount of time he signed for, and made it look flat out easy.

i remember being sad about the schwarber injury after it happened, and thinking how if we won the world series it would always be a little bit of a bummer that he wasn't involved. what ended up happening was completely unfathomable at the time. seriously, we just witnessed that.
