  1. Rizzo's got some nice gams, and his hair looks MUCH better there than the previous N'Sync-era Timberlake look he was seemingly rocking before. Bryant needs to make some fat stacks off of a Proactiv endorsement, stat.
  2. We started talking about Schwarber last night after seeing those pictures of him looking like the effing hulk, and I went to find some highlights of his dongs, which sadly brought me back to 2015. I realized while watching that it was almost a completely different experience watching highlights of the 2015 team. Still incredibly fun, but just doesn't come with the happiness of knowing where 2016 ends up. i feel like 2015 was just the beginning part of the world series run. the fact that they won it all in 2016 kind of solidified the cardinals series (and the wild card) as "mattering" in my mind. i'll always see it as part of the same ride. it feels like the mets series didn't even happen. the cards series was where their full potential was reached, they just had to wait a little while for the coronation.
  3. i think that is one of the best catches i've ever seen
  4. none of us know which players are good leaders, but i do know that wade has been a whiny little bitch since joining the bulls, and hasn't really backed it up on the court. i guess since he kisses jimmy's ass all the time, that means he can trash the rest of the team. he reminds me of dwight schrute.
  5. if feels weird to associate joe buck's voice with awesome things now. i hope this doesn't last forever.
  6. and not that money (or lack thereof) excuses it in any way to begin with, and I know it gets said every time a high profile celeb gets pegged for DUI or dies in a wreck, but why the hell aren't they being driven around when they go out and get trashed wtf it's part of the thrill
  7. my mom steered me away from football when i was a kid, and then i got a nasty concussion playing hockey.
  8. sorry, but it was a grimace
  9. [tweet] [/tweet]
  10. cool article, but the heyward stuff was oddly excessive
  11. apparently it's only a 2 year deal with a 6 mil AAV. not as exciting as a long-term deal, but it makes sense. he'll be a UFA at the end, but even if he leaves, the 2 additional years are worth more to the hawks right now than the picks or trade package he'd get in the offseason. plus they''ll have some expirings around the time the new deal is up (kruger/hjalmarsson will be up, and crawford should be very tradeable with 1 year left on his deal), so keeping him past then is still a big possibility.
  12. wow, i was getting increasingly pessimistic. this is massive.
  13. things just keep looking up for the reigning world series participants
  14. His complete non reaction after the Miggy slam against LA will always stick with me. It looked like he either didn't understand what was going on or he was actually playing for the Dodgers. I know he probably was still stewing on giving up those two runs (nevermind that he came in bases loaded no outs so I don't blame him for that), but just show a little excitement. Instead he just sat there stone faced. he was probably afraid of what uptight baseball people would say if he acted happy after giving up the lead. everything about chapman as a player/teammate was fine while he was here. he's a bad person for other reasons.
  15. he goes, we still go
  16. the Cardinals radio call of the pickoff is my 2nd favorite moment in baseball history. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/11493214/v31189779/must-c-conclusion-ueharas-pickoff-makes-sox-winners skip to 1:59 to hear it wow that's good
  17. when do they unveil what the rings will look like? is it not until they're handed out on opening day? hopefully they'll rival the 2012-2013 hawks rings http://1.cdn.nhle.com/blackhawks/images/upload/gallery/2013/09/ring-5210041258_std.jpg
  18. even when he was in god mode i don't remember anyone here wanting to talk extension at all
  19. i'm starting to wonder where the starting pitching is going to come from if he's not on the team after next season. it feels like he's going to end up being a good option.
  20. royals fans seem to hate the trade
  21. If Davis is considered truly healthy, he'll command more than Soler. Soler just doesn't have much value. If Davis is sold off as a risk, Soler is enough. I wouldn't be surprised if Soler has more value than many think. Yes, he has only produced 1.5 fWAR, but he has only accrued just over a season's worth of PA. He has a ton of potential, and he has performed well in the postseason. He has been inconsistent in the regular season, but has had poor luck with regard to the timing of his injuries. No, the injuries are not a selling point, but I think the case could be made that Jorge has been the victim of some bad luck. Plus he's still hugely talented. I don't think that Jorge has a future with the Cubs, but I think he would be better used as an add-on piece in a larger deal. My gut feeling here is that Jorge is just as likely to break out a bit next year as Davis is to make through the season without his elbow exploding. i take 'at bet. damn good bet
  22. For a year and a half worth of closers the Cubs have given up Gleyber and Soler. If only they'd have packaged them together at one point you'd think they could have landed a closer with a little bit of team control. I look forward to giving up Eloy for a season of whoever in 2018. me too, it will probably be for someone awesome and we'll probably win a bunch of stuff
  23. dees guys suck
  24. one of them might get injured
