so they wanted to do an actual thing but caved and did something meaningless. good for them. it's absolutely the opposite of what kaepernick is doing, whether those are their intentions or not. it gives the people who disagree with kaepernick a perfect thing to endorse, because it does nothing and will be immediately forgotten.

they're basically coming out with all lives matter shirts wait huh? Read Doug Baldwin's twitter. This is so such the wrong response. How ridiculous. Do you hate everything? it's kind of hard to gauge the meaning/intent when it's also about 9/11, but as a response to kaepernick, it's horsefeathering stupid. kaepernick is kneeling to say "hey, this is a problem. let's do something about it". the fact that he's ruffling so many feathers is why it's meaningful. the seahawks are singing kumbaya and saying "nah, it's fine. look at our togetherness!". it's meaningless [expletive] that does absolutely nothing. it's the exact kind of thing that racist people love because they can point to it and say "see, THIS is how you protest!" and because they know how nonthreatening it is. it helps pretend everything is fine. i'll admit that i haven't followed it all that closely, so i'm sure there are honest intentions from a lot of the people involved, but it absolutely flies in the face of what kaepernick is doing, and the NFL probably couldn't be happier about it.

they probably wouldn't have won it with him either, and maybe then they wouldn't have gotten the 670 great innings he's given them since. debating in hindsight is pointless, though. Didnt they go 5 five games with the Cardinals in the divisional series? Strasburg could very easily put them past the Cards & in the NLCS. i said they probably wouldn't have won, not that they couldn't have

still the right call we'll never know, but so far, that move has netted them zero playoff series wins they probably wouldn't have won it with him either, and maybe then they wouldn't have gotten the 670 great innings he's given them since. debating in hindsight is pointless, though. i understand that every chance to win is sacred, and it's hard to expect young pitchers to stay healthy anyways, but i thought it was a pretty easy decision at the time. if the innings limit was important enough to set before the season, then it probably wasn't worth breaking just to marginally improve a single chance at the crapshoot. then again, i'm not a doctor, and i really have no idea wtf i'm talking about.
