    brilliant I certainly don't agree with the call, nor do I inderstand it as there's no question that Garza is by far our best starter, but I really don't see the point of him publicly griping about it, assuming that's what the Tweet's about. Maybe he can go to Red Sox camp and share a bottle of Boons Farm with Chris Carpenter while listening to AFI. not brilliant

    None of that is really new. You mean he would have signed the deal he ended up signing if another team offered it first? That is just crazytalk. That said, I can't blame the Cubs for not offering more AAV than they did. Dude is gonna hit the majors by June in all likelihood, so that's really just four years at a high price for an unknown. Not similar to the Concepcion deal or Soler's likely deal at all. And I don't think he's worth the extra risk, honestly.

    Yeah, I'm pretty sure that glass is going to be thick enough to repel even the hardest of foul balls with ease. I'm holding out hope for a catastrophic engineering miscalculation. Either with the tank, or the monstrosity in the outfield. Jeff Loria was a catastrophic genetic miscalculation. hahahahah

    They're just lucky that they're playing against the next least deserving team in the tourney. (Let the record show I voted BYU out of the tourney in our final poll. They're good enough to have a punchers chance against Marquette and Murray St. Like the announcers said, they're a poor man's Mizzou. Speaking of Marquette, I work with a guy who has a family member in Marquette's athletic department. Buzz Williams apparently butted heads with the AD over the suspensions of the players during the WVU game a couple weeks back. Maybe he does want out? I heard that, too, from my own source. Everybody hates the AD there, and Buzz is no exception, but I don't think he wants out.

    We don't, overall. They're in the same pool of 16 for ranking, and Marquette finished higher than Wisconsin in the aggregate vote from last night. As for playing for a 2 seed, I really doubt it. That top 8 is pretty locked in, and not a single voter picked any team other than that top 8 among the top 8. Cool. I didn't know you were still playing with the top-16 at this point. Disregard.

    Let me preface this by saying that I love this thread, always read it in its entirety, and have never participated because I don't quite have the know-how to do it justice. That's why I'm asking this question. Why does the committee (yours, that is) like Wisconsin over Marquette right now? We've beaten them H2H on the road, have them destroyed in overall RPI, RPI likes our SOS better, and our conferences are numbers 1 and 2 in SOS, respectively. I know it's one spot and thus a minor quibble, but I would like to think we're basically a lock for a 3 and playing for a 2 in the BEC. Thanks in advance, guys. Love this thread.
