  1. How about the smashing Sosa's boom box thing? I'm pretty sure Wood and Grace would be besties if they played together longer. They were besties when they did play together. I meant BFFs. Haha. SSR, you're a pretty big fan of Grace, if I remember correctly.
  2. It's amazing how you can't even see Reinsdorf's lips move when Selig talks. Man, I hate him.
  3. At least this time he warned us he was going to do it before he did it.
  4. Well that makes a lot more sense. maybe if you weren't a sox fan and had communication skills, you wouldn't need kyle to hold your hand. Anyone can fall victim to UK's daily battle with the english language.
  5. Have a little respect. They were the first team to win an NCAA championship with an all-black roster. Well he does say that Williams might be competing with Webb for the starting spot, so it might not be terrible. But it could be terrible. That was a useful piece of analysis from me. Awesome. That's WSR quality Yes, but with self-awareness
  6. Pretty much. These people live in a different world than we do. What I would do at age 22 don't have anything to do with anything.
  7. hahahaha I didn't realize it until I read this, but I feel the exact same way
  8. Appreciate that Rob, I go with navy blue used by my Alma Mater Marquette. Though the carolina blue jerseys we wear now are really sweet too. Did not know there were two fellow Marquette alumni broadcasting in the Cubs' system! Awesome. I notice they're not attempting to get jobs in Milwaukee for some reason. I know, right? Who would want to work for the Brewers?

Did not know there were two fellow Marquette alumni broadcasting in the Cubs' system! Awesome. Yep. Len was a few years ahead of me and was around in an advisor type role with the TV station at MU my last couple of years while he was working for the Brewers. Since he joined the Cubs org he has been extremely helpful to me and very gracious with his time while passing along advice. Great guy off the air and a model for how broadcasters should treat and work with the generation below them. Not surprised in the least, but great to hear all the same.

  11. I might be wrong, but I think he means more valuable than any other left fielder in our organization. I hope that's what he means, at least. Yeah, I thought that was clear-ish.
  12. That sounds like a terrible deal. I'm pretty sure you missed the Jim Hendry like sarcasm. What a moron, right?
  13. As of now, Stewarts stock is slowly but surely on the rise whilest Darwin Barneys free falls. However, LaHair-Castro-Cardenas-Stewart could be historically bad. Dude, there are two above-average defenders out of those four.
  14. Hey, well, that's not true.
  15. he's very happy to be there He looks like a waterlogged corpse. There something disconcerting about the way he looks. He's kind of creepy. Uncanny valley lolol perfect
  16. The "why do you care about this when there are so many worse things going on?" argument is the new Godwin's Law. BBB's Law.
  17. This is a great article that is very relevant to what started out as a great thread: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/translating-farm-system-rankings-into-wins/
  18. Yeah, but he could be a fun douche as long as he doesn't find God too hard.
  19. Yes, my life is damaged by this feeble attempt to regain his glory days. That was quite the zinger you laid on me. Regain his glory days? What the hell is wrong with you? So well played. LOL!. You are making me look normal. He's good for about one of these per Aggie offseason and they are a TREAT.
  20. Baseball is dominated by the old guard like no other institution in America, it seems. The argument against replay is so pig-headed and non-sensical, there is really no reason why it should have a voice. And yet, that viewpoint dominates the landscape of baseball. Lazy, and extreme example - yes, there are people in Chicago who want a return to Jim Crow laws. But, they are old and stupid and everyone agrees that they don't count. Why can't baseball be the same way?
  21. Reading that LaHair article, I pictured an FJM send-up where KT would just inject ".600 BABIP" every couple sentences. "LaHair is insanely hot right now. THANKS TO HIS .600 BABIP. He homered again Wednesday, his sixth of the season, and he's batting .381/.459/.794, ON THE STRENGTH OF A .600 BABIP giving Cubs fans one reason to keep paying attention to a bad team." Then he casually mentions it at the end of the article because it's just minor detail that only nerds care about so [expletive] them.
  22. Homer Bailey sucks and I want to punch his face. Demp's peripherals are awesome. We should win this game convincingly.
  23. If you mean "1%" as in the Occupy Wall Street sense, they don't sit around and do nothing. They do most things in this country and pay the bills. If you meant the 1% that play professional baseball, nevermind. Well look at this gem way outside of the political thread. Can we finally change your name to "Right-wing Nutjob-y?"
