  1. And that would probably make me the happiest.
  2. I will officially be happy with any of 8 guys when we pick.
  3. A lot of these stats suggest our pitching has been worse than our offense. Is our bullpen really that bad that it's canceling out our relatively awesome starters?
  4. YES! Tenth pitch of the AB. No getting unlucky on that ball in play.
  5. That's like thinking the Garza trade was a mistake at the start of last season because of the hot start that Fuld got off to. Except Garza has actually had a decent MLB career and has upside. Ian Stewart played in Colorado and was a pretty ineffective baseball player. I'm not saying Colvin is a God or anything, just at this point this trade looks bad. I was never unhappy with the Garza deal anyway so I am not comparing the two deals. The point of the Stewart trade is his upside. The point of the Colvin trade is that there is literally nobody you regret trading Colvin for.
  6. Does Correa have more projectable power right now than Almora and Buxton? He's built like Jeter already.
  7. Wow, yay to all of this. Exciting day in the system.
  8. ITT: Idiots hate Ian Stewart
  9. Garza had approximately 5 more seconds to set himself before he threw that ball.
  10. I'm really starting to buy this. I'll bet he's third behind Buxton and Gausman on our big board by the time the draft arrives.
  11. OK, that's much better than I could have hoped
  12. I want WSR to play the quiet game. Roster moves do not mean trades; they mean roster moves. Isn't it more likely that Brett comes up sooner than Rizzo? I think Brett is out of the super 2 water after June or so, and Rizzo has about that long to wait before we surrender a year of control. I wonder if they look to move DeJesus at the deadline to make room for Brett (or possibly LaHair).
  13. I'll be there for the first two games. Hope to see history, and any starting pitcher other than Maholm, also. I went to a game vs. the Twins in '09. You wouldn't think it, but they were some of the most obnoxious visiting fans I've ever been surrounded by. One of the only Cubs games in which the away fans drowned out the Cubs fans. I remember it was shortly after Milton Bradley tossed a ball into the stands thinkin there were 3 out, and some doofus in the stand was harping on it the entire game. The Twins' and the Mets' were the two most obnoxious opposin fans I've ever experienced at Wrigley
  14. I'd like to think they're more interested in Correa bc Soler is a foregone conclusion. Because I like Almora a bit better so far.
  15. Kinda hope that's where the similarities end
  16. **** you. Yeah, why the hell did that make that article? What a smarmy [expletive] he is.
  17. Neely could have written that excerpt from Buster. Errors and BA, my Gawd
  18. I still can't believe this happened: I've decided I don't want him to go anywhere
  19. Unequivocally FJM. Couldn't digest it until it was presented with some humor. Then NSBB. I got flamed a couple of times when I first got here, but I figured things out. That is why I'm a big proponent of trail-by-fire for newbies at NSBB.
  20. Just when I think we've rid the board of people who make posts like these... You've yet to use a meaningful statistic in any convincing way and you're telling people that they are seeing what they want to see? They're looking at peripherals and predictive stats that don't even start to normalize until after about the first half of the year and you're citing batting average and RsBI and many other things that don't matter. You're the only one making declarative statements about Ian Stewart and there is a very good chance that you will be woefully wrong by the end of the year.
