  1. Marquis is a sure bet to outpitch Dempster this year
  2. Man if Murton sticks around, we have a great chance to win close games given the strength of our bullpen and bench.
  3. Spill it. I've heard of one faint rumor with the Indians. I heard the Mets considered Roberts before reupping with Castillo. And if memory serves me correctly, the Padres had some interests in Roberts. Plus the M's considered Roberts. Outside of those teams, the interest in Robert, atleast publically, have been lukewarm. So again, fill in why you think it's "false?" And maybe you could post it so we all could see it.
  4. You sound a little like my sister. Seriously, what do uniforms have to do with whether or not you like a team? I can see expressing a preference for certain Cubs unis, because we like them no matter what, but as a deciding factor? I don't understand.
  5. Awesome. I hate Milwaukee, the city is a POS. Their fans are annoying and unrealistic. However, once Fielder, Braun, and Hart leave for better money they'll be back to worthless for another 18 seasons until they scrounge a winning season again. Then their fans will be back... Diehard Brewer fans are just as clueless as casual Cub fans. They think every minor leaguer they have will be an All-Star, and rarely follow the other teams in the division. Do you currently go to Marquette? I graduate this May.
  6. Can Nyger Morgan hit, or can he just make miraculous defensive plays that make me want to pull my hair out?
  7. Make them throw in a prospect say...a Scott Sizemore, or a Matt Joyce, then I would. But trading a young, cheap valueable arm for a free agent to be EXPENSIVE SS is NOT an ideal trade, IMO. So again, if Detroit is willing to throw in a solid prospect with Renteria, then yeah I would Marmol for Renteria/prospect. But the first goal, should be to trade Dempster before considering moving Marmol. Let's shoot for the moon and demand Rick Porcello! In all seriousness, it depends one whether you think Marmol has the potential to be a starter in the future. If he will be a reliever his whole career due to mechanics-related concerns, then Renteria for him straight-up would be robbery. It probably is, anyway, because regardless of his potential, Marmol will probably never get a chance to start for us anyway (and Detroit is exactly the type of team/front office that would give him a shot at it).
  8. I like my campus and the lakefront, but other than that you are absolutely right.
  9. Having lived in Milwaukee the last four years, I can say that no Brewers fan has really gotten under my skin. I'll also venture that the average Brewers fan is more knowledgeable about their team and baseball in general than the average Cubs fan, but the opposite is the case for the die-hard fanbase of both teams. As far as good old-fashioned hate goes, nobody tops the Cards, Sox, Mets, Braves and Astros for me. The Brewers are working their way up, and I agree that Ryan Braun helps out quite a bit.
  10. It did, but I caught it and corrected it right away. :PDammit. It would have been especially sweet to catch you in a spelling error.
  11. I swear that this used to say "prostrate cancer". I had a joke ready and everything...
  12. The link is screwy. You have to scroll down to find the right link on the right.
  13. By die, do you mean retire, or is there something you know that we don't?
  14. In regards to the Padres and their horrible CS%, journalistic integrity would require the mention of Greg Maddux and David Wells. Come on...
  15. what the Hell are you talking about?
  16. I always thought the opposite. Didn't the Cardinals give up on him because Duncan and LaRussa had gotten tired or his attitude? I think his work ethic was questioned, a la Zito, but i don't think he was ever accused of being a jerk until now.
  17. In a heartbeat. I just don't see it happening anymore.
  18. This is definitely good news if you doubted Lou's ability or resolve as a manager. I did not. That said, now we'll be lucky to get a bag of beans and any of his salary absorbed if we do move him. It is something Lou had to say, but not a move the Cubs should think they have to make, because it unintentionally lowered Marquis' trade value still further.
  19. Oh man! Can we get a defensive sub for this guy already?
  20. And don't forget that people in glass houses sink ships. I'm a jerk.
  21. http://draysbay.com/images/admin/bonds.jpg Jeez, he could at least try to smile He's too rich and awesome to do such a thing.
  22. It is never the time for that.
  23. Voted other because McFadden will go first, but Jonathan Stewart will have the better career. If McFadden continues to run so upright in the NFL, he will bust big-time.
