  1. Unless Hendry becomes somehow incapacitated for the rest of the offseason, I think there is about a 10% chance of this happening. I refuse to believe Lee is declining at first base, and Aramis' great defensive year last year will at least be repeated, as he's gotten significantly better every year. Not to mention the almost certainty that Hendry will overpay for some solid defensive second basemen to neutralize Derosa
  2. I'm thanking my lucky stars you don't run our team.
  3. Oh my God. A 800+ OPS from the catcher's spot next year would be incredible. Not sure PECOTA will project that high, though. And I will be very happy if Fukudome shows up with an 800 OPS as well.
  4. No, you aren't alone. I have been thinking that this is the worst month of the whole year for sports. College football is over, college basketball is not important yet, the NBA sucks, the NHL is the NHL and who gives a good [expletive] about tennis? This month is a joke. I went to a Marquette basketball game tonight and I still don't care about basketball. Ouch.
  5. I really don't mean to bait here, but I really liked the footage of Cobb and Wagner. I can't even believe you found that. Good work.
  6. If they get Cain for Crede, in any fashion, I'm going to crap myself.
  7. Their pitching is bad. Their defense is really bad. How does that saying go again?
  8. Like the Hutt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joba_Chamberlain
  9. Just out of curiousity, which cookie-cutter parks came out and are gone by now?
  10. The Orioles Hangout site is talking about Greene because he wants to be on the East coast. The Cubs need a SS more than a 2B, but maybe a deal could be worked with the 3 teams to send Roberts to the Cubs and Greene to the Orioles. Padres get: Cedeno, Murton, Patterson Orioles get: Greene, Headley, Marshall Cubs get: Roberts, Payton, plus cash Follow it up with the Dempster, DeRosa, ???? for Burnett. Roberts leads off and pushes Soriano down in the order. Payton backs up all 3 OF positions. Rotation would be Zambrano, Burnett, Lilly, Hill, Marquis/Gallagher/Hart. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ That trade is way too good for the Orioles. And besides, Angelos would reject it.
  11. Or they're like the rest of us and don't want the Pats to win, and they are more optimistic than us.
  12. Interesting. I said both were kind of equally bad, but ask me this question again in Wrigley gets renamed. By the way, Minute Maid Park, as a representative of the new "cookie-cutter" ballparks is still >> the Astrodome.
  13. Who pays Jack Wilson's terrible contract in that scenario?
  14. This really aggravates me. There is no "constant" use of the f-word. You were forewarned and I wish you would have quit reading after the first or second swear word. If you can't appreciate the intent with regards to Hendry's candidness then you had no business reading the article, anyway.
  15. Kind of a worthless post; aren't they pronounced the same? The reference was to Jabba the Hut from the Star Wars movies. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e250/man0lo/jabba-real_v.jpg Whats Star Wars? I got the reference. Since they're both pronounced the same, I assumed this coincidence was obvious to everyone and didn't warrant a post.
  16. Kind of a worthless post; aren't they pronounced the same?
  17. A hospital in Santo Domingo? She'll be dead shortly.
  18. I did this as well, only because I'm an ass.
  19. What position will this person play? Leadoff...duh =D>
  20. I have no idea how he got there, either. Where's Vlad, or his is accuracy hurting him too much?
  21. Ping, I singled you out because you are the most educated baseball mind in the thread. Why is Soriano leading off ideal and why Ramirez in front of Lee? Looks good otherwise.
  22. I read the thread title and didn't even have to look at the author to know who it was :D I would have to think the Dodgers could do much better than Crede for Hu, Pierre and 15 mil. Of course, that doesn't mean Coletti would ask for more. It would be a marvelous trade for the Cubs, regardless.
  23. i'd actually take a job with the cards and then run them into the ground. it might get me fired, but my cub fan friends sure would appreciate the effort. I would go this route as well. I probably would too, but only because running an organization into the ground would give me about as good a chance of being hired by the Cubs. This is fabulous.
