  1. Man, if Littlefield were there we'd have four representing the NL central! What a shame.
  2. I didn't think anything would make me root for the Yankees 3 or 4 years ago, but Boston fans pulled it off. Boston fans by a nose.
  3. Sabean because the Giants' success is the least proportional to their budget. I put Colletti at #2 for the same reason.
  4. Anyone remember the Sports Center segment where they asked Schlareth (I think) which was HARDER to do - go 0-16 or 16-0? In case anyone was watching, my clicker broke when it hit the tv.
  5. Pretty certain that if Murton starts in right, managers will certainly use defensive replacement for Matt whether Pie is in center or not. If Ethier is enough superior to Murton to obviate that practice is encouraging. What?
  6. Welcome to the board. You're going to hate that screen name in time. :D Great, so we now know Fukudome is a "family" guy. Well that should be enough to get Hendry to throw another 10m a year at him. Jimmy's checklist: Speedy: check Left handed hitter: check Catches the ball: check Can lead off: check Good character guy: check Folks, we got a winner! I just hope there isn't another traderumor in here. :) Oh, there are tons.
  7. Ned apparently would have us believe he doesn't regret the contract but I don't think he's fooling anybody. His own words ooze regret from every syllable. I especially like the bolded quote. Nobody says stuff like that about a big contract they're happy with. Poor Ned. He's as bad a spin doctor as he is a GM. http://www.latimes.com/sports/printedition/la-sp-dodgers7dec07,0,140622.story?coll=la-headlines-pe-sports Exactly how I would have put it. But you can't exactly trash the guy's contract while he's still on your team. Interestingly enough, "it is what it is" has become something of a calling card for Pierre. An FJM post a while back quoted him saying the same thing multiple times when asked about his horrid OBP. Funny stuff.
  8. Maybe I'm just not attracted to him in the same way others are, but I think that's quite steep. Agreed. I'd do any two of them, but not all three. -Sorry- That's what she said. -Sorry, watching too much Office lately-
  9. I vote French Silk. Oh wait, that's not on there. [Conan's voice]WHAAAAAAAAT?![/Conan's voice]
  10. Pirates. \:D/ I'm sure he'll sign with a Major League team instead. :D =D>
  11. I would expect a bit more power from Ethier, minus the defense.
  12. They wouldn't settle for less than Hill. I was thinking this same thing, unfortunately. Do they have any non-amazing pitching prospects that could be packaged w/ Ethier in a deal for Hill?
  13. Where do I push the done deal button? It's Hendry's belly button. Just have to hunt him down. Just be forewarned - he giggles like the Pillsbury Doughboy when you do . . . it's kinda creepy, really. If you do it with your left hand and do it quickly, he may just sign you onto the roster I loled a bit
  14. Have you forgotten who runs this team?! There is absolutely no one worse than Brian Sabean. Anywhere. Ever.
  15. I disagree, 1. If they asked for Zambrano, we could simply laugh. 2. Even the Yankees have expressed interest in shedding some payroll and adding some budding stars. Or at least keeping their own. The Yankees organization isnt familiar with the term "shedding payroll". I was more leaning towards "cost conscience" more this year than they've ever been. Come on!!! The Yankees have no conscience, but while it is unlikely, they may be cost-conscious. Please speak English.
  16. Are you attributing more value to Chris Burke than Sam Fuld!? Very few know that Sam Fuld sucks, while everyone knows that Chris Burke sucks.
  17. Not funny. ](*,) [-( Since nothing is happening in this thread, does someone want to explain why and from where Rick Roll originated? Were you trying to be sneaky or where you taking my question a tad too literally?

  19. As long as he sticks to his guns about not trading Hill or Pie, he really can't do much damage. I think Marmol would have to be part of the deal, and I'd be ok with that.
  20. There seems to be some doubt as to whether Marshall can stay healthy for a full season. I think his upside is a #4 starter, because although he has great control, he doesn't have the stuff to be more than slightly above average for a full season. Gallagher, on the other hand, has a plus curve and a pretty good fastball. He is definitely the less-proven of the two, but with a considerably higher upside. Marshall's value is as a spot starter/long relief guy IMO so it depends on what the GM in question is really looking for.
  21. Because no one else saw this coming. Its not like the Sooners were favored or anything [sarcasm]
