  2. Don't know a name, but I am guessing it wasn't you. Good day. Well that's all we really need to know there, guys
  3. Next time you do it, flag down a cop and find out. If you can pass all the tests, you're cool with me. He'd probably tell me to stop wasting his time. I passed my first and only field sobriety test during the south side parade in evergreen park! No, I was not driving
  4. Seriously! On Baseball Tonight (I know, consider the source...) they were talking up all the "division leaders" and whether teams like the Cubs should be worried. Nevermind the fact that they actually still have a winning record. It's ridiculous. It's like trying to predict how worried an NFL team should be after week one. Not sure what's up with your sig, but I'm pretty sure it offends me.
  5. I had a nice retort all typed up for you, flyseye, but it didn't send and now it's already been said. Basically, there's no doubt in my mind that MANY nsbb posters could out-strategize Lou and others and that NONE could do the rest of their jobs effectively. BECAUSE HE'S A MANAGER AND YOU'RE A PUNK ON THE INTERNET is a really terrible argument here. Again, you're embarassing yourself.
  6. Why is he bitter and unprofessional, and where are you seeing it in that quote? And how can he, like you say, agree with everyone and still come off bad by saying it? Are you asking me the difference between Heath Bell saying this and me or you saying this? That's what it sounds like. He needs to shut up and play baseball, not publicly criticize his crappy team's coverage in the national media. And he comes off sounding bad when voicing a popular opinion because that opinion doesn't need to be stated by a professional athlete. It's just an attention grab, and it sounds bitter and unprofessional
  7. Yay for telling us what we already know and coming off bitter and unprofessional in the process!
  8. Lou is going a little senile. And even if it were totally not possible that a student of the game and purveyor of new-age statistical evaluation could ever make a better in-game call from his armchair, the fact is, Lou's losin it a bit. He's a little behind the times and just not always 100% there despite his great success with our club. Those who can't recognize this or concede that he makes some uninformed, by-the-seat-of-his-pants decisions that cost the team from time to time just aren't watching closely enough or aren't informed themselves.
  9. I suppose I could have done that. Sweet, pretty sure I will never, ever go
  10. My Alma Mater is always "we" while the Cubs are pretty much only "we" when I'm at the park
  11. Is there anything near the park along the lines of bars, restaurants and hotels? It gives the impression of being in the middle of a damn corn field.
  12. If this is the first condescending post you've come across, you should be happy. Where did I say it was the first? I will say it might be the first time I've been totally blinded with wrongness and also patronized by the same poster.
  13. Yes, you did say that before. And yes, you're still wrong. Only morons like those I mentioned above think LaRussa is more than a capable manager. I don't appreciate the condescending tone, either. And I don't know what to tell you if you think I'm some old-school disciple of the game. Little league manager, how embarrassing for you. And do try to use correct grammar when you condescend to me.
  14. Say what you will, but he called Hawk out on his BS tonight. Sox pitcher made a blatent balk, and wa called and Hawk did his usual grumbling about it, and Stone totally called him out on it, and all Hawk could say was well I thought he stepped toward first and not the plate. Thanks for reminding me just how much I hate Hawk.
  15. This whole post is noise. Only a select few morons on here are going to overlook poor managerial decisions if the results bear out favorably. I resent the implication that I don't know the difference between a low-percentage move or a high-percentage move if the results don't fall in line. Lou continually makes poor in-game decisions and has never shown that he is capable of managing a bullpen while on the Cubs. Whether we win or lose or Miles hits a blooper or Theriot steals home when the pitcher keels over mid-throw, poor decisions are poor decisions and deserve to be recognized as such. And I feel very safe in saying that even if Lou has some magical scouting report that supports his decision to pinch hit Miles in that situation, he is putting too much stock in it and STILL over-managing, which is the number-one critique of him, anyway
  16. Became a role model for you, didn't he
  17. But somebody else nailed it here first. :Di meant raw's reasoning haha don't pat yourself on the back too hard
  18. That's because the Cubs are in town

  20. no is excited about miles and gathright sthu
  21. This guy sounds really creative. I'll bet he's really good at the fantasy baseball
  22. UNC won me $126 last night so I got that goin for me
  23. The thought of the Bum losing his [expletive] over that little quip made me laugh. So, it really was funny
  24. in cubs discussions? really? And no. He's already ruined Harang and I don't see why he wouldn't keep riding him until as arm falls off at this point.
  25. This. I'm trading a Cubs loss for $140 every day until the playoffs start
