  1. Nope. Fleita said today he takes the guns out of the park when Simpson pitches. Doesn't want him worrying about it. Not entirely sure what to think about that. The meat head in me thinks that if Simpson is mentally weak enough to let a radar gun bother him that's worrisome. http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/04/29/kevin-towers-used-to-mess-with-brad-penny-by-altering-the-radar-gun-readings-in-san-diego/ That's pretty shrewd on Towers' part
  2. I'm not going to sit here and compare Rose to other elite NBA superstars. He's a point guard and there really hasn't been a PG quite like him in recent history. So far he's proven that he has a below average jump shot and a very poor three shot and he wilted in this series. So yes I am a tad bit concerned and I'm especially interested to see if he can improve. He "wilted?" He was stopped by a very good defense because he's the only play-maker on the team. Yes, he did go against great defense in some cases but he also missed many open shots and turned the ball over inexplicably in many other instances. All in all he didn't resemble the MVP he was in the regular season. You're right, he definitely did not play a finally-peaking Heat every game in the regular season
  3. Come on now. I'm not trying to hate. He had an amazing season. And great point guards that are so atheletic can peak very early. Ask Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury. Why would I do that? They have nothing in common with Rose.
  4. Gonna be a tough hurdle to get over though. The Heat are scary and should get better when they can add mid level guys. The Heat are certainly scary going forward. Are they as scary as an improved, more poised Rose with a better supporting cast? I don't know. Unlike you guys I'm not as sold on Rose improving a lot going forward. I just don't see a lot of room to get better. Really? How about shoring up his long-range shot and making better decisions under pressure? He doesn't need to do anything else. And like someone else said, he just needs to play like he's played all season, and not get rattled by some pressure, the likes of which he's never [expletive] seen before.

  6. God bless you rational Bulls fans. That was an unbelievable series, granted a really tough loss. If you don't think the Bulls will come back better and more focused next year, and that Thibs won't learn from his many mistakes, I pity you. That was an unbelievable learning experience for a young, over-achieving team and they WILL compete at an extremely high level for a long time. Really impressed with the Bulls in these playoffs.
  7. Is Blake Griffin dunking on a 9 ft hoop in that commercial?
  8. He better not come back in after this TO
  9. I didn't even sort of expect that to go in. And I agree with Kerr/Reggie. Rose needs to sit for a couple minutes.
  10. I don't really mind it. Gets the crowd into it, and maybe LeBron thinks twice before he goes up so strong in traffic.
  11. That was in poor taste. He gets away with it bc he's being self-deprecating. It's way easier than criticizing the officials, which Kerr has done a bang-up job of.
  12. It seemed like you were saying Howard had just as good a chance to make those as James. uh no i wasn't saying that at all. flames was saying that those shots aren't lucky because lebron is the best player in the world. when in fact, he's not the best player in the world because he makes those shots, they aren't part of his game and i'll be happy if he settles for impossible shots more often than not. i just think it's dumb to watch lebron hit 1 40-footer out of a half-dozen and then a turnaround 18 footer rainbow and marvel at his greatness. We're cool
  13. It seemed like you were saying Howard had just as good a chance to make those as James. uh no
  14. dwight howard is the second best player in the world and it would be extremely lucky if he was nailing those shots. i don't get your point. Uhhhhh
  15. Unbelievable that we did more than tread water with this squad on the court. Exactly one guy can shoot worth a damn.
  16. Or they could move Cashner to the 60-day DL. With his setback he'll probably be out at least that long anyway. :-&
  17. Oh man, he could be huge. He hasn't been on the radar for over a year; if he starts producing, that's like another draft pick.
  18. Do you think they'll celebrate any less fervently or be less annoying in Chicago? Not a chance. I'm rooting for them not to celebrate at all; remote as the chance may be.
