I've reached the point where I'm extremely confident the Cubs can beat the supposedly top teams in the league. It's the bottom feeder teams that are the annoyance thus far, but I expect that to change too. If Soler & Ramirez come back soon, ready to roll out of the gate, and if Theo gets another quality starter, I honestly think the Central can still be had.

I'd like Hamels & Papelbon, but I doubt the FO will give up the package to get that done. I'd be very happy w/ Kazmir & Paplebon. I'm wondering if Soriano ever sees the Cubs ML roster.

Maybe I'm just having a bad day, but in the midst of snarking bad spellers, is he saying they shouldn't trade Castro because he had a hot month last August? 2013 happened, as did the rest of 2014... I'm likely missing some nuanced point here.

I didn't need to see the actual numbers to know the offense has been weak since the start of the Pirates series, but they sure do make things painfully clear. I agree w/ those who say lineup construction is mostly not worth the time to argue about, but Castro hitting right behind high-OBP guys makes zero sense to me. I kinda expect the Cubs can take 2 of 3 n Miami, but I thought the same thing before the AZ & both Milwaukee series.
