    Has anyone mentioned hatred for Marquis yet?

    Marquis pretty good against the Giants in his career, going 4-0 with an ERA in the 2s. We need a decent start from him, as it is July, and his complete collapse is just around the corner. But he's been pretty much in collapse mode all season...well, in the least very consistent. I'm nervous whenever he takes the hill, as I'm sure most others are.

    Not me...I always feel it's a luxury if you can add a piece at the deadline. You're just never sure if the right person for your team is out there, if they're available, if the other team wants your prospects, if the other team is out of the race, and if the price is right. That's so many ifs that have to be dealt with that I'm just thankful any year that some piece is able to be added. Yes, this. I'm just happy the Cubs are going to be buyers instead of unloading players for the eternal "wait 'til next year."

    Peter Gammons' report on the throwing session (during Sun. Night Baseball) was that he looked great. Bleh...that's the kiss of death

    Being a Cubs fan means I'm always worried, but right now I'm not any more worried than normal. I agree w/ the sentiment that this is just a rough patch, largely attributable to injuries. I think we'll be fine once guys get healthy.

    I think Marshall gets rocked tonight, BUT, I also think we can do the same to Buehrle. Gonna be a close game...

    I recall that Damian Miller (after coming to the Cubs from AZ where he caught Schilling & RJ in their prime) told Dan Patrick that Woody had the best stuff of anyone he's ever caught. Patrick followed-up, giving Miller the chance to equivocate, but he stuck to his guns & said Woody is the nastiest guy he ever caught.

    he'll be booed because he's on the Cubs now plus he said some negative things when they traded him I remember when John Mabry first returned... he got a standing O. John Mabry. Edmonds will be cheered pretty loudly. BEST FANS IN BASEBALL I don't get this. Where and why did this start? No kidding; it's a tired cliche, IMO

    Well, let's be perfectly fair, as deplorable an act as throwing garbage on the field is, that's pretty much all the '06 team was worth... and...right or wrong, fan reaction MAY have helped re-emphasize to ownership that they needed to put a winning product on the field.......or not
