  1. Don't trade off our assets for Figgins to play in CF. Just sign Lofton. Murton isnt much of an asset!!! Lofton does not compare to Figgins. Figgins is a stud, Lofton is a good cheap CF, but dont compare him to Figgins. Trading Murton and other stuff from the Cubs (Cedeno, dempster, marquis, veal, patterson) is worth getting Figgins over Lofton! Lofton is old, he will decline soon. Figgins will be good for years. You're not giving up assets for Figgins. But i dont think the Angels will trade Figgins without getting studs from us. Really? Because to me they seem extremely comparable. I think you need to take another look my man.
  2. I don't think Pie is as highly regarded as Jones though, is he? He used to be, and Bedard wasn't regarded as highly back then as he is now. Well, considering neither statement you made would still apply, it really didn't add much value. Sorry.
  3. I don't think Pie is as highly regarded as Jones though, is he?
  4. I would trade the prospects for Johan but in no way would I give him $120M without ever seeing him pitch @ Wrigley. There's just something about that that scares me.
  5. I think Pie will be fine. He was 22 last year and posted a .973 OPS in AAA. Sure, he struggled at the MLB level. Not every prospect is Pujols. Here's what I would do with Pie: let him play. Let him learn. Don't platoon him. He's hit at every level, while being young for his level. He does need to work on his plate discipline and taking walks, but he's shown the capacity to improve. Bat him 7th and let him learn. I agree with everything you said except for not platooning him. Felix has learned to hit at every level against rightys, but has never hit lefties worth crap. I'd be alright with just letting him play no matter the pitcher, but it could also help alleviate some pressure from him to not have to face pitchers he's historically never been able to hit. I wouldn't give Murton for Byrd just to get him a platoon partner, but I think having one could help both Felix and the offensive production. Totally agree dew. If we were not a contender then I would let him play against LH & RH. But since we are, there's no reason not to platoon him, at least for the 1st half of the season.
  6. You're just jealous of him I know I am. why? i'd be jealous of him if he had a picture of the top of her head, if you know what i mean...wink wink. Anybody remember when Erin Andrews used to do ESPNews, like right when it started and she was not attractive at all? And then somebody from ESPN stepped up and decided to fix her up; got rid of her glasses and turned her from super dork into what she is now.
  7. Home court in college basketball is worth more to the oddsmakers than possibly any other sport. And WVU is 4-2 in the Big East, so they're no slouch. No, WVU is solid. G'Town has just really impressed me the couple times I've caught them. I was thinking Pk 'em.
  8. Why is WVU favored by 3 over G'Town?
  9. #5 for Indiana was yelling "Miss It, Miss It" in the ear of UConn's FT shooter from behind him.
  10. I see what you're saying, but there really aren't that many teams that deserve to be ahead of IU right now. Maybe I should have said "How is Indiana 17-1" Because obviously ranking is pretty much dictated by record for big schools.
  11. They were ranked fairly high in the preseason rankings so naturally they have edged their way up the polls with a 17-1 start. But even as an IU fan, I've felt a sense of reservation about this team....I'm not sure how good they really are. This game today is just disgusting. I don't think they are bad or anything, just lots and lots of close games. I see them as a Sweet 16 team, that's about all.
  12. How on earth is Indiana ranked #7?? They are just not that impressive (and not just today)
  13. Depending how Pie looks, I'm still in favor of throwing him in the #2 hole with some protection around him.
  14. I think this point is highly misleading. Greene was only 27 years old last year and had 27 HR in 600+ AB's. His previous high was only 15, but in only 400+ AB's. He's just now entering his prime and power is known as a developing trait. And even so, 20-30 HR's for a SS is great. And just one other fact: Career Home HR's: 27 Career Road HR's: 47
  15. Few points: 1) Greene overrated? By who? I don't even see him rated/talked about that much. 2) What makes you think he'd hit top of order? 3) We went down in 3 straight, not 4.
  16. I don't see how pretty much naming him the opening day starting CF at 23 years old is making it seem like they don't like him. Keith Law also thinks Moustakas was the 11th best player in last year's draft. He really said that? I don't see anyway he's that low with his raw stuff and good debut. I'm assuming it would have been pre-draft, yes?
  17. It's not the look, it's the fact that it adds just that much extra traffic (of any kind) to the area. In that regard, I just assume that because the area is popular, it will continue to develop. I guess it's hard for me to empathize, as it is a destination for me rather than a home. I understand where you're coming from though. Yeah, I mean it isn't the biggest deal in the world to me, especially since by the time it would be done I may not even be living here. But this neighborhood is very particular about stuff like that. I mean hell, they had to have tons of meetings just to accept concerts at Wrigley. But those old plans to add directly onto the Wrigley parking area were awesome. I'm pretty sure they put that off because of the ownership issue, but it still is in the plans at some point.
  18. So it looks like Barajas actually lost money by backing out last year, no? For a guy of his caliber, that is big money.
  19. It's not the look, it's the fact that it adds just that much extra traffic (of any kind) to the area.
  20. I should have been renting out my 2nd bedroom all this time
  21. I guess about 98% of GM's would trade Aramiz for Lincecum & Cain
  22. Don't worry it won't happen. Or if it does, it will be extremely scaled down. This project would work a block from Wrigley, but across the street it will never happen. Mark my words, too many NIMBYs in Wrigleyville. I would say I fall into that category about some things, but I would be against this even if I didn't live there (I think?).
  23. I am a homeowner in Wrigleyville (Fremont & Waveland) and I am definitely NOT for this.
  24. Really interesting question... I'd have to get the opinion of a bunch of people smarter than me about when Lincecum's and Cain's arms might be subject to falling off. Some scouts think Lincecum is a walking time bomb. Some think he can throw like that forever. Cain worries me a bit more, simply because he looks like a workhorse, so he's been treated like one. Still, he's not in any imminent danger for this season. Either way, with a rotation that sick, we'd be in pretty good shape. I don't care if we have to sign Pedro Feliz to play third... Cain reminds me of Jason Schmindt
