  1. I've had a pretty good read on these playoffs, predicting this exact Super Bowl matchup before the playoffs started. I have to stick with my original prediction and have the Patriots taking down the Giants, better QB & better Head Coach (although, maybe not by as much as most think). The Giants may actually have the edge in offensive weapons, running game and defense. Not sure about special teams really. I just think that 2 weeks of prep time for Bill B, Brady playing extremely well and some revenge from the last Super Bowl leads New England to a victory. The health of Gronk could go a long ways towards deciding this game too. NE - 27 NYG - 24
  2. Anyone, actually almost anymore, other than DeWitt.
  3. Just wow to one persons posts in here tonight. This game was hideous obviously, but if that wasn't one of the worst officiated games of the year I'd be shocked. I am not one to blame officials for losses, but this was about as good a case as you could make.
  4. Wow, one of the worst halves of officiating I've ever seen....and I watch a lot of CBB.
  5. Are you just ignoring that Michigan has a road win over Oakland this year? Not exactly the most quality of opponent (RPI in the 120s I think) but you make it seem like Michigan hasn't won on the road all season. They are 1-3 with 2 of the 3 losses coming to top 20 opponents. Also, going with your argument that home wins are [expletive] and road wins are everything, where do you put a neutral victory over a NCAA bound Memphis team? No one is making the argument that they are a final 4 team or even a contender for the Big Ten, just that they are building an NCAA quality resume. Although a big road win would obviously validate them more (thought we were close when we lost by 2 in Bloomington), as others have pointed out, teams that have had success in the tournament have gone all season without a good road win in the past. I'm not ignoring anything -- I just don't count the Palace of Freaking Auburn Hills a ROAD game. The Memphis win is OK (actually, I'll edit this to "pretty good"), but Memphis really is just not that great. Below average conference and they may not even win it. The win looked better at the time than it does now.
  6. ANY road win is a good win, period. Michigan has 0 -- losses at Virginia, Indiana and Iowa. Illinois has 2 -- at Maryland and NW
  7. When you're good and playing them at home. Michigan still hasn't proven much to me. If beating a top 10 team doesn't prove much, you've set the bar a little high. Rankings mean absolutely NOTHING.....why is that so hard for people, especially college bball fans, to understand? Beating a good team at home is a decent win, nothing more.
  8. When you're good and playing them at home. Michigan still hasn't proven much to me -- wow, they haven't even won a road game yet.
  9. What were the others? Memphis (RPI: 28) on a neutral court, Minnesota (38), Northwestern (25), Wisconsin (46), and now Michigan State (6). Also since they were talked about above, the great Iowa State (51). RPI is stupid but the selection committee thinks its important. Those are really not that "quality" of wins at all. Memphis sorta sucks, Minnesota does suck, NW is OK, WIsky is meh especially on the road. MSU is a good but somewhat expected win.
  10. Ha -- that's so ridiculous it's not even possible to believe as a joke.
  11. Please tell me the reason you post all of these is because you work for the Cubs and you're desperate to find someone.
  12. Wow, he was really good for them last year.
  13. They're certainly not top 10 good. I hope they finish undefeated to see how high they climb in the polls, and to see what the committee does with them. They're currently sitting at an RPI of 28, which I have trouble seeing go much higher. I'd probably give them a 5-6 seed if they went undefeated, and an 8-9 if they went in with a loss. That 1996 Princeton team that came into the tournament 25-1 got a 5 seed. The 2006 GW team that came into the tournament 26-1 got an 8 seed. The Ohio Valley is terrible, so Murray State's best win of the year is likely either the Memphis game or whoever they play in the Bracket Busters matchup. Could end up undefeated without playing a single tournament team on the year. Following up with this, at this point it looks like Murray State's opponent in the Bracket Busters game will be either St. Mary's or Wichita State (Murray State is one of the home teams, and St. Mary's/Wichita State are by far the best road teams in the list, since Gonzaga/BYU/Belmont/Harvard aren't participating and VCU/Creighton/Butler/Cleveland State/Milwaukee are also home teams). I'm not sure a home win against one of those two is any better than a road win at Memphis, certainly not the kind of thing that's going to bump them up to a top 4 seed if they weren't considered there earlier. I saw that they beat Alaska Anchorage by 2, granted it was in Alaska in that tournament but it's hard to justify a high seed with a result like that, IMO. Actually, Alaska Anchorage is considered a very good DII team, definitely better than someone like a Chaminade. Tough to go up there and win.
  14. What the hell happened to Walker? He had a very good bat for a utility infielder and I don't remember him being particularly bad on defense. He just kind of dissapeared after a short, forgettable stint with the A's. What happens to 80% of players -- he got real old real quick.
  15. I think you can get rid of your hideous Rodgers sig now
  16. Well, I was wrong about that Under in the NE/Denver game, but it pretty much went the way I expected; you know, except for Brady throwing 6 TD's. Still only went over by 4 I think. Green Bay losing was amazing. I really like both dogs this weekend as I believe the NYG win outright in what should be a game that sees some scoring. Alex Smith really impressed me this week, is he really a legit QB option in this league now?? I've been pretty down on the Niners all year, so they could burn me once again but I just don't see them being able to score enough here. I like the better QB (in this case that's Eli most of the time). Both teams with crappy backup QB's if it came to that, but Carr probably a bit better than Kaepernick. NYG don't care about being on the road, we all know teams especially veteran ones have shown they can win on the road at this point in the season. Don't know what to think of Pats at this point, they probably should win with Tom being at home but that 7.5 seems like a lot. Should be fun, NE vs. Giants Super Bowl once again.
  17. Well, they will win at Nebraska (Nebraska is really bad). So they just need to get 1 from @ Wisconsin/Michigan/Purdue. They should be able to win one of those games. I would say 4-3 is quite likely in that stretch, while 5-2 isn't out of the question, even assuming a loss @OSU today. Umm...probably out of the question. You really think Indiana is good enough to win 2/3 @Wisky, Michigan, Purdue?
  18. Another solid move by the Yankees -- Kuroda should have a real decent season for them. I would have loved the Cubs to get him had we been in a position to win now.
  19. Wow -- I would have to side with the Yankees on this one.
  20. Guess he's still angsty about not getting called up in September. Steve Clevenger was the funniest. Soriano got booed by a few people and Crane Kenney a bunch.
  21. Wow, I think we could be really good friends.
  22. I think that's exactly the sort of thing the new management would agree with.
  23. Yes, I will take my chances that NE doesn't put up 40 points. I'm skeptical of anything more than 34 really. I'm also skeptical that Denver can put up 13.
  24. So you are of the opinion that Denver gets to choose how the game will play out? They have to try. Seems to me like all of Denver's success came on 4-5 huge plays yesterday...take those away and what are you left with? Have to try to keep Brady off the field and run the clock, Tom doesn't like to lose at home.
  25. I'm not sure how Denver/NE sniffs a total of 51 either.... 30-17? Still 4 Under. You're not sure how a game, which is a rematch of one that just three weeks ago saw 64 points scored, won't sniff 51? Their last game has zero meaning to me regarding this game. Yesterdays output has zero meaning to me regarding this game. If Denver has any chance of keeping this game close they can't give up 30 points. I've been a Denver backer since the Bears game, but I don't think there's any chance in hell Tebow goes into Foxboro and resembles anything that we saw yesterday.
