    He's making $650,000. I would have liked to have seen the Cubs sign Cruz and Floyd, FWIW. IMO we already have Jose Cruz in Angel Pagan.

    Didn't read the whole thread, but I'm all for Angel in center right now. I mean Jacque is obviously on the block so he has to get some PT for the the sake of the suiters (if there are any). But I really like Angel, he seems to genuinely care about the teams W-L. You can't say that for every player unfortunately. Obviously he isn't going to keep this up and will cool off, but he's a solid 4th OF at this point IMO.

    God, I'd almost keep Howry in. Obviously Demp is our closer, but Howry is locked in. Why risk someone coming in with questionable control?

    Is Toby Hall back yet? If not, who is their backup? Hall was called up yesterday. I only caught the tail end of it but AJ was not happy with Ozzie. Something is brewing there. Seems to make sense to me. Hall has good #'s against Lilly.

    We could really use Derrek Lee and those numbers against Buehrle today. Only 6 AB's, but looking good.

    You actually think we'll win one? We'll win one. The Sunday game they got a Rook going. Contreras isn't going? I don't think it's been determined. They have to juggle things because of the rain out/double header earlier in the week. I read that the rookie John Danks or Contreras could pitch on short rest or they could bring up Gavin Floyd... Danks has pitched well and he's a lefty. Considering the Cubs struggles against LHP, I'd prefer they not see two in this series. Yeah, I agree. Floyd would be preferable.

    That's not true whatsoever. It doesn't apply today, but there are times when you do have to 'tip your cap'. Players make good plays and pitchers have great days...today was not one of those days, we just blew it.

CUBS Goddamit, I almost had a murderous rage today. I was throwing stuff against the wall. I almost put my foot through the TV. How can the Cubs lose like that. 5 runs in the 9th? Come the freak on! Are you new to being a Cubs fan? I'm only 24, but have been through enough that days like today almost roll off the back.

    Is he going off on anyone specific (Bullpen) or just the team in general? I actually think today makes this weekend's series huge. We need to get into it emotionally and what better way to get it started than at home against the Sox.

    It can come soon enough. As long as half our defense is demanding out of town and Rex Grossman is our QB, I can only look forward to next Bulls season. Since when did 1(Briggs) become half of 11? Alex Brown did yesterday too. I know thats not half, it was a huge exaggeration I don't think Alex 'demanded' out. I think he wants it to be looked into.

    I don't know if that'll be helpful, doesn't Marmol have trouble throwing strikes as well? 40 IP/12 BB so far. He was awesome out of the pen last year. Struggled as a starter.

    When are they expecting him back? Paper said 50/50 back for this series. Will be playing by Friday.

    It must be nice to have those players to have the same lineup every day. I'd like to see either DeRosa or Murton in the 2 hole....that's all.

    Why does Lou continue to bat Floyd second? He's a power hitter with a low OBP that is much better suited for the 5 or 6 hole. Also, I thought Lee was coming back today? :? Well, I agree with you 100%, but it's not like there are a lot of great #2 hitter options in that bunch.

    for running on what was probably a missed hit-and-run, and for being called out when he was safe. Intelligent comment. Sorry to disspoint you. I didn't realize we were picking apart peoples heat of the moment reactions now..... :roll: If you don't want to be criticized, don't say stupid things. Simple as that. That was kind of a jerk comment.
