  1. That's the problem. He hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy.
  2. Too bad you got rid of him for the Home Run Derby competition. He might have helped you a little bit.
  3. That's why I did it. I enjoy seeing the Cards at the bottom. I'm sure their fans would do the same with the Cubs when posting standings. Also, I've seen some sites put teams in alphabetical order if they are tied in the standings.
  4. The Reds will drop. They may hang around until June or July, but they'll still finish in 5th or 6th place. The Reds have no pitching. I would expect the other 4 to all hang around though.
  5. I'll go so far as to say that if he isn't significantly over .500....or alternatively doesn't at least finish the year on a hell of a streak which gets us into the playoffs, where he continues to dominate...then he'll be as good as gone next year. I hope he does both of htose thing...cause I really like his mound presence and his makeup...now if is right arm would just comply. Even if he does well this year I think we should only give him a one year deal or an incentive-laced deal just to be careful. I do hope he comes back healthy although with his past I'm don't really have any expectations.
  6. My dad will never forget that trade. Every once and a while I'll ask him "how did Delino work out for you" and he'll just shake his head and say "I can't believe we got rid of Pedro." Pretty funny.
  7. Moveon.org lets move on. Dubois was loveable, but in no way does he have anything to prove. Lets keep Jones for at least 2 more months in RF and see what he can do. Our offense seems okay for now. Agreed. Wait and see if Jones starts to hit a little bit before worrying about another outfielder. We know Lee and ARam are going to hit. Barrett and Murton can be decent hitters. Let's just hope Jones turns it around a little.
  8. Don't worry, I'm an engineering major. We have to know how to use excel to get by in school. At least at my school we do.
  9. Were any of mine wrong and if so, which ones?
  10. Aardsma should stand on the mound like that when he is getting the sign from the catcher. He might make a couple hitters laugh to hard to hit the ball.
  11. Dunn always has a chance at the record. If only Jose Hernandez was playing every day they could have a strikeout-off. dunn has the record I know that. But he can break his own record, which would still be considered as him breaking his own record. Let me rephrase it. Dunn always has a chance at 200 K's.

  13. I used to say the same in college. Get work done by 10 or 11, watch Cubs game (drink), go to bed, wake up for 11 am class. Can't say I like going to bed by the 3rd inning and waking up the next day to see a boxscore... For me more like, get out of class at 5, frantically do HW from 5-6, watch Bulls game from 6-8:30, frantically do more HW from 8:30-9:00, watch Cubs game (drink), then try to do HW buzzed from 12-2, wake up at 8 on six hours sleep. Man... that homework stuff is really cramping your style, no? Homework always gets in the way of my sports watching. It gets annoying sometimes.
  14. If he plays long enough, he'll break Reggie Jackson's all time strikeout record. Dunn has only played 4.5 seasons and is already almost 1/3 of the way to Reggie's record. He'll definately have a shot if he doesn't get hurt but would need to average 150 a year for about 12 years to have a get the record. He'll definately shouldn't have problem getting into the top 10 or 20 though. He already has the single season strikeout record (altough Jose Hernandez would have it if his manager didn't sit him out the last week+ of the year). Personally, I would like to see Dunn go for 200 K's on the year. With 18 so far in 12 games that puts him on pace for 243 on the year. Let the Adam Dunn strikeout watch begin. In the three full seasons he has played his lowest single year total was 168. When you have an OBP of 400, it really doesn't matter how many times you K. I definately agree with you. My previous post wasn't meant to take a side on the debate. I just like when people go for the strikeout record. I liked it when Hernandez made a run at it and liked it when Dunn broke it. That's why I would like to see Dunn get 200 on the year. If he does, I'm not saying that he's a bad hitter. I'm not saying Dunn is a good or a bad hitter. I just want 200 K's.
  15. Nobody knew how well he was going to start. I'm glad we didn't trade him.
  16. I just did my spreadsheet last night so I used the players people picked after the thread was locked.
  17. You do have 46 in both versions.
  18. ndistops, I made my own spreadsheet and I got a few different from you. I'll recheck mine tomorrow if you want to do the same, but I'll list the people that I had different from you. The numbers next to the name is the number of HR's I calculated. Serena - 42 hawkcub - 19 Treeman - 31 Dobson - 28 CubsinNC - 31 bukie - 39 HHHBK21 - 25 MrWood - 34 Scott G.F. - 32 Marco4 - 31 SouthSideRyan - 35 Pistolcub42 - 34 TrueBlueCubFan - 40 Let me know if you check yours or not and I'll do the same. We'll get this thing right eventually.

Can't say I like going to bed by the 3rd inning and waking up the next day to see a boxscore... Hey, what a coincidence. That's my plan for tomorrow and Wednesday nights (Tuesday I have to work), but I'll have to get my HW done by 7 (West Coast time).

  21. Or MLB.TV. I love it. I get to watch whatever games I want to. Well, except Giants and A's games because they are blacked out locally. And the Sunday night game of the week. But other than that I get to watch anything.
  22. I would rather find out in April whether or not he can play so then we can figure out what to do with him. If he hits, great. If he doesn't, let him go.
  23. Hopefully he gets a chance to prove himself.
  24. Fixed.
