  1. Greg Maddux traded for overpaid, arthritic, injured crap. Wasn't that the thread title when the trade went down. Yup.
  2. Yup, at least the Cubs are still batting.
  3. Whoever had today in the ejection pool should be a little ticked (not much because the call went the Cubs way) because if the umps don't change their call, I bet Lou would have gone ballistic.
  4. Lou will make sure to bring him in to pinch hit against a lefty. Even though Ronny can't hit lefties. Hell, Ronny can't hit the batting practice guy right now.
  5. Might as well chalk this one up as a loss.
  6. Lilly struck out Zambrano? No he's the Bull****. Might want to watch the language there.
  7. He hustled to first so it doesn't matter that he got out.
  8. Well technically that was a run and hit. A hit and run is what the players do every single at bat.
  9. If Dusty was watching the game he would be furious right now.
  10. The only difference was Maddux wasn't in his prime but Lilly is. Also, Lilly coming from the AL to the NL is really going to help him out. He is much more likely to continue pitching well (though not a sub-2 ERA well) than Marquis is.
  11. Psh, only 1.96? Rich Hill is laughing right now.
  12. According to the Sac Bee, Eric Musselman was fired as coach of the Kings today. It's not too surprising as there has been talk of this for the last couple days and it happened quickly because Geoff Petrie is going to Europe for scouting on Sunday and wanted the situation figured out before he leaves.
  13. I am so sick of this term. It became the vogue phrase this March, moreso than I've ever heard. Mike and Mike said it 50 times every morning. i had never heard it prior to this thread, but i'm already tired of it Apparently you didn't watch any analysis of the NCAA tournament this year.
  14. I guess he missed a cycle. This sort of regression happens when you turn 50.
  15. Not really, what is his pitch count? Looper is at 35 through 3.
  16. Blanco has more hits than Cedeno does this year. EDIT: I guess not with the error ruling. But he still has as many hits as Ronny does.
  17. Unfortunately for you, this isn't golf and the lowest score doesn't win. :D.
  18. Hernandez left with his team down, and his team never tied it up. The team would have had to tie it up or take the lead at some point to make sure Hernandez didn't get the loss, and they never did-they got down 5-0, and they closed it to 5-4 but never got it tied. Which is one of the many reasons why W-L record is a dumb way to judge a pitcher's value. If that is Exhibit A, Exhibit B should be Ted Lilly's loss on Sunday (1-0 to the Reds).
