  1. -- Yahoo But then again, he was scheduled to make his next start until he had a flare-up the day or two before his start. Until he has a problem-free start (eg: doesn't have to skip the start thereafter), I'm not banking on anything. So in other words, he can come off the DL whenever he can pitch since it's been more than 15 days, correct?
  2. why, do you not like winning? He doesnt like cheating. Cheating or not. I just don't like his attitude. im pretty sure we can ignore someone's attittude if the team wins. whats more important, attitude or winning? the world's not disney world. You would really want to cheer for a team full of Bondses? I think you'd change your mind pretty quick about that. I wouldn't have enjoyed the Colts Superbowl win nearly as much if you replaced guys like Dungy and Harrison with Belichick and Terrell Owens. Not every player has to be my favorite person in the world but Bonds would be too much to ask for, I just couldn't cheer for a guy like that. With other teams, you're right. But with the Cubs, I'll take a World Series title any way I can get it. If that means we have 25 jerks who hate each other on the roster than so be it. I just want a World Series title.
  3. Miller has already stated that he had no desire to come out of the pen. So if the Cubs decide that they don't want Miller to start anymore he'll likely be traded or DFA.
  4. why, do you not like winning? He doesnt like cheating. Cheating or not. I just don't like his attitude. Give me a 25 man roster full of jackasses that are good at baseball. No doubt. But most teams, not even the Cubs, can afford 25 men with the salary of Bonds. I thought you were talking about his attitude? Right I did. You were the one you brought up winning. All I said was I don't like his attitude. This has been an odd exchange. It's an IMB! specialty. Just like the Derrek Lee no HR's thread.
  5. Awesome.
  6. Warriors are two minutes away from taking Game 1 in Dallas.
  7. A Calgary player shot the puck over the net from only a few feet away in overtime. This coming after they killed off a 4 minute Detroit power play.
  8. [dream] Z to the Yankees for ARod. Give them a reliever if they want also since they could use the pitching at the moment. After Miller gets DFA, the rotation could be Hill, Lilly, Marquis, Guzman, Marmol. I like. [/dream]
  9. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070422/SPORTS02/704220632/1050 More speculation from Detroit. Can we trade Eyre instead?
  10. Except Joe Morgan of course who said he had never seen four players hit homers in a row before.
  11. Joe Thomas would be a better selection and move Gallery to RT. They won't be able to do much with that offense until they fix that OL. A QB can still be had with that 2nd round pick. Moss and Porter are a good 1-2 if they can get along, and someone like Aundrae Allison could make a good 3rd WR in the 3rd round. Moss would be okay for a team in contention. He's not going to do anything in Oakland. I'm hoping they can find a trade partner for him. I don't see them selecting Joe Thomas after what has happened with Gallery so far in his career. I QB could and hopefully will be had later in the draft as I said before. I would like Drew Stanton but Trent Edwards would be okay also.
  12. We need a new team. Need to trade for Garnett. the lakers??? who do they have that would bring garnett in return? I'd probably guess Andrew Bynum, Lamar Odom, and a couple of 1st rounders would be a start. It's not going to happen though. You're going to have to blow McHale's socks off if you want to get Garnett. And the only way the Lakers would do that is if they traded Kobe for Garnett. Andrew Bynum would be the center of that deal. It would also likely include a first round selection and Jordan Farmar also. I don't think they need Garnett and don't really want Garnett because I think Bynum is going to be very good. Remember that he's still the youngest player in the NBA at 19 - at least until the NBA draft in June. He made a big improvement this year and I fully expect him to average close to 15 point next year. The trio of Bynum, Odom, and Bryant could be good. The thing the Lakers lacked was a third solid scorer this year who could pick up the slack when either Kobe or Odom sat out (or when Odom was hurt). I'm hoping that Bynum can become that. I'm also REALLY hoping that Bynum can take some huge steps in his progression next year because the more minutes he gets, the fewer that Kwame Brown gets. I hate, HATE Kwame Brown.
  13. I've heard that the Raiders might be interested in signing Tim Rattay, then drafting Calvin Johnson #1 overall and picking up a QB like Trent Edwards (I would prefer Drew Stanton personally) later in the draft. Allow me to say that I would be all for this.
  14. The Cubs are slumpbusters.
  15. I would assume that you'll be just fine with those two when all is said and done.
  16. Niiiiice. Yeah, I was about to bold that part, too. I know they all have given up a good chunk of hits, but it looks like they manage to get out of it. Walrond and Marmol both have WHIP's under 1 and O'Malley's isn't much over 1. Definitely a good sign with Marmol.
  17. This thread is awesome.
  18. he earned his spot in spring training. it's stupid to just give up on the kid after you put him on the 25-man. You mean after almost a whole year now of horrible offensive and average defensive play? Because that's what he's given the team so far. He had a decent April 2006 and nothing else. Wuertz also "earned" himself a demotion to AAA last year in Spring Training and 3 appearances in the regular season (all of 2.2 innings). Was that the right move? Ronny needs to be sent down to AAA to work on his hitting and one good game is not going to change my mind. The problem is that if you send down Cedeno there is no other MIF on the 40 man roster that can replace him. You would wind up with a bench of 3 outfielders, 1 catcher and one infielder. With Floyd, Ward, Murton, Blanco and Theriot there would not be much flexibility in making late game changes. DFA Miller. Bring up Guzman to be the fifth starter. Send Ronny down. Bring up Fontenot. Then you have four MIF (Izturis, DeRosa, Theriot, Fontenot) for two spots. Theriot can play SS also.
  19. Did anybody else hear Joe Morgan say "I don't think I've seen four home runs in a row before" shortly after Varitek's HR? Just more proof that Joe only watches the games he announces.
  20. Wow on the Red Sox back to back to back to back HR's.
  21. Chelsea blew a big opportunity to put more pressure on Man U and tied Newcastle at St. James' Park. Since Man U holds the tiebreaker with a better gaol differential, Chelsea has to hope that Man U screws up again for them to win the Premier League.
  22. I'd take Eckstein over the crap we have at SS right now.
  23. Unfortunately, the runs the Cubs score tomorrow don't count for today.
  24. I like the optimism Len but this thing is over.
