    I am. Good. The Cubs are worse today. Barrett to Bowen is a big drop off. The Cubs are worse tomorrow. Two picks in the top 75 picks next year > Burke. It's not a hard thing to see. Barrett to Bowen, I agree. I'd rather see Soto over Barrett, Bowen, Hill, and Blanco. I'm not sure they'll call him up which they should but that's a separate issue. I don't see a team signing him before 12/1 and the Cubs likely would not offer arbitration given how this season has progressed so far. Even taking the two draft picks out of the discussion, a prospect who can't hit .230 in low A isn't worth the drop from Barrett to a catcher with a minor league BA of .238. I know it's BA, but this guy isn't Gene Tenace. Bowen + Burke >>> An overpaid and aging Barrett through the 2010 season (and Hendry signing him long term cannot be ruled out of the equation)

    Absolutely a good trade.

    I like this trade. 1) The Cubs didn't get expensive, arthritic crap in return like they did last year when they dumped Maddux. Bowen is making the minimum (I believe) and the other guy is a minor leaguer. 2) My big fear with Barrett was that either A) he would hit well for the rest of the year, Hendry would resign him to an expensive, multiyear deal and Barrett would suck immediately or B) he would continue to be below average offensively (I shudder at his .307 OBP), no other teams would want him, and Hendry would overpay him with a multiyear deal. So all this does is all but ensure Barrett won't be a Cub next year which is good. Barrett is only going to get worse and this only paves the way for Hill or Soto to be the catcher in the future. And if Bowen progresses and hits well, then we have a good inexpensive catcher. If he doesn't, he's gone at the end of the year.

    -1 for TT. But in all seriousness, though I'm not a Bulls/Bears fan I don't have a problem with either team. I also really dislike the Pistons though I'm indifferent on the Packers. Oh well, all I really wanted was to advance past the first round.

    Every single team in the NL Central actually won today. I'm willing to bet this is the first day all year that the NL Central went 6-0.

    June Lee has been better than May Lee. OPS .943 in June vs .841 in May. note to self. Get facts 100% straight before posting. Point being, he's cooled off from a very hot start. But, point is taken and is hope for future. I would like to see April Lee though and his 1.035 OPS.

    Yeah, already at 34 pitches. I would bring in somebody else. I mean, they were off yesterday so most of the guys should be rested.
