  1. Great, now the Second Coming could happen tonight and it STILL wouldn't be the lead story on BBTN! Yep. Easy lead story for ESPN. No debate tonight.
  2. anyone who has signed up in the last 6 months are going "who are these moderators....Jon? Cuse? Chris?" Jon posts occasionally. Chris I remember at least posting occasionally during this baseball season. But I can't remember Cuse posting at all in the last couple months. Cuse posted a lot in defense of Big East football, but nothing since That's the last I remember of him also and that was mid-January. I think he might have posted some during college basketball but I don't know for sure.
  3. In other words you weren't really in control of when you left that game either; she was. :D Sort of. But it was more the time was more in control that day. It was a slower game and we left right on the three hour mark. So had it been a bit quicker, we would have seen the whole game. We stayed about as late as we could in the hopes that we would see the end of it.
  4. Since I've been in control of what time I leave (i.e. basically being old enough to drive and not going with my parents) I only left one game early and that was because my girlfriend and I had to pick up her sister from the airport and we left after the eighth inning. Only missed a 1-2-3 ninth.

  6. If Z leaves, they'd absolutely have to go for someone from the next tier to replace him. Buehrle fits that billing. Didn't Buehrle say that the cubs are the last team that he wants to play for? No idea, but money talks. Now I remember. It was 89navigator who said that Buehrle would never play for the cubs. Well, he is a Cardinals fan.
  7. I'm guessing you meant you wouldn't care, and if so that's exactly my point too. If they win it this year all past suckage will be forgiven and they will have bought time to do any rebuilding needed under a new owner. Yeah, I meant wouldn't. Thanks for the correction.
  8. I bet he thinks Jacque Jones is a great player also. Nope. Jacque ain't white enough for this kid. Ooo, good point. Replace Jacque Jones with Wade Miller or Scott Eyre.
  9. I bet he thinks Jacque Jones is a great player also.
  10. I say he gets matched up with whoever wins the tournament.
  11. Probably not. yet, in another thread What if he suffers a career ending injury? Until he gets there it will always be an if. somehow, you treated the former as an 'if' but you don't seem to be treating the latter as an 'if.' you said you don't needlessly argue minutiae with me, so there must be some explanation, right? sorry, trick question. you do in fact like to needlessly argue minutiae with me, and that is the explanation for your contradictory opinions on the two situations. Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing. Let me just repost what killthegoat said. Let me repost that with the important part bolded: And, in case you can't read that because they type is too small, he said: barring injury In your original post, you did not say anything about an injury. If Bonds does not get hurt, there is no chance he won't break Aaron's record. In other words, if Bonds does not get injured, he will break Aaron's record. That's the key. Obviously we don't know if he's going to get hurt or not. What I'm saying is that, IF HE DOES NOT GET HURT, he will break the record. You failed to say anything about an injury with regards to Biggio reaching 3000 Why must you be such an ass all the time? I was not needlessly arguing minutiae with you. You asked a question and I answered it. So my opinions on the two situations do not, in fact, contradict themselves. Get a life buddy. Ever since your little blowup in the game thread a few days ago, I've made it even more of a point than normal to not get into an argument with you or even respond to your comments because you're so damn stubborn and you rarely listen to what other people have to say because you're so stuck in your views. And I think this response from you proves what I said in that same game thread: that you are trying to pick a fight with me rather than the other way around. After all, you're the one who blames me because you almost got banned a while ago. Like I said, get a life. EDIT: And mods, I apologize if this was out of line in any way but I had to get it off my chest. This will be my one and only response to him in regards to this matter.
  12. ¿QUE? No hablo español, en inglés por favor.
  13. I wouldn't pretend that, but he's definitely got a solid chance of outperforming what the Cubs have gotten out of SS so far this year. Yeah, it's not like we're getting great production out of the SS position anyway. At this point it's worth giving Ronny another shot.
  14. Cain has been unbelievably unlucky this year.
  15. This Petrick kid looks pretty good. Ray King's gut sighting!!
  16. Not really surprising. He had a monster month.
  17. Coming into today, Damian Miller had 1 HR and 10 RBI's in 82 AB's.
