It would be nice if the Cubs just won a World Series game at Wrigley.

For this team, I'm not so sure about that. What would you have put the Cubs odds of winning the World Series at going into the season, and how does that compare to the odds of winning 3 straight games against another championship-caliber team? Probably fairly close. But at least I've locked in league championship and getting to see my team in the World Series. 538 has the Cubs as a 15% chance to win the Series now. For comparison's sake, Fangraphs had the Cubs at 17.4% before they played a game this year. The Dodgers were the only other team above 10%.

So as long as we wasn't driving, recreational cocaine use at 3am mid season is cool? It's not a good life choice but I don't see how it makes his death any less deserving of sympathy really. They said they don't know who was driving when the boat crashed but even if he wasn't driving at that time, I'd bet anything he was driving at some point in the night. And if not that night, then likely countless other times as well.

Cleveland had 16 home games in September. They drew less than 20K in 8 of them including 5 of less than 15K. They had a 3 game series the end of August against the Twins where they couldn't draw 12K to any of the games.

Yeah, even I won't be defending the umpire this time. Perez should have been out last inning which would have ended the inning and Lindor should have been out this one. Cost us two runs.
