  1. That was incredibly stupid from Almora. Just play the ball off the wall.
  2. Come on Rizzo. Don't let him off the hook with just the one.
  3. With 6 days in the season? No... I even skimmed that thing to check. Guess I should have read it closer. In that case, I request all home runs this week for myself and Andy (since we're the two closest) to be counted twice. After all, we can't have Duke winning after he repeatedly tried to kill the 2017 Cubs season.
  4. Weaver had given up 12 ER in 52 2/3 IP this year before yesterday. He gave up 8 ER in 3 IP yesterday. ERA went from 2.05 to 3.23.
  5. I knew Detroit was bad this year but I didn't realize they were that bad. Not that it matters too much but the Phillies and Giants are both a 1/2 game worse than the Tigers.
  6. One last bullet to fire. Drop Lamb Add Blackmon
  7. Went to GRB today to enjoy a little Cardinal misery about the games the last two days (mainly Saturday's) and before I can click on a game thread, I notice another thread titled "Carpenter's got to go". In case you're not sure which Matt Carpenter some of them want to get rid of, it's the one who: -has put up at least a .828 OPS in 5 of the last 6 seasons (2012 was a partial season) -has put up at least a .365 OBP in each of the last 6 seasons and is 14th in MLB in OBP this year and was 17th last year. -has put up at least 2.9 bWAR in each of the last 5 seasons -has put up at least 2.8 fWAR in each of the last 5 seasons -got paid 6.25M in 2016, 9.75M in 2017 and is due 13.5M and 14.5M the next two years The original post contained this: I didn't read the whole thread (it's 208 posts) but it was started in early July (Carp had a horrible .372 OBP and .816 OPS at the time) and is the second topic in their baseball talk forum.
  8. And yet if we lose tomorrow I guarantee that someone here will express concern about blowing it. It's okay, we can name names. It's Bryant's Disco Ball and Schwarber Fan. The Cubs lose and they 100% convinced Martinez is going to throw a complete game shutout so it will only be a 4 game lead and then the pressure's on the Cubs to not get swept.
  9. That's 10-2 since getting swept by the Brewers a couple weekends ago. 44-23 now since the ASB, which is a 106 win pace. Only team better is Cleveland.
  10. It was 10-6 in the 6th and the Cards had two on and their best hitter up (Pham). And my post was as much about today as about the past couple weeks.
  11. Its not a good play but it's not like he turned an out into a triple. Lynn is still [expletive] the bed and couldn't make it out of the first. That being said, thanks Dex!
  12. Be happy Brewer fans. Since St. Louis keeps winning, the Cubs can't clinch on your field.
  13. Great hold on the tag by Russell. Counsell is a dope. He wasn't pushing the leg off the bag.
  14. I would assume Carl at least starts it. ESPN's gameday wasn't clear and I didn't look close enough so I thought Martin PH for Edwards. Didn't realize Edwards is in Jay's spot. That makes me feel much better about the bottom half.
