  1. Assuming they do start Roark tomorrow... What Dusty should do is be very aggressive with his bullpen. Roark shaky early? Get him out. Pitchers spot comes up in a big spot in the 5th, bring in a pinch hitter. Big spot for the Cubs in the 4th or 5th? Bring in one of Madsen/Doolittle/Kintzler. Extend those three if necessary. Do what you have to because you've got two rested starters available for Game 5 plus Scherzer if needed. Of course it's Dusty so what the Cubs will get a couple off Roark, a big spot will come up in the 5th, Dusty will either stick with Roark or go to his normal middle relief and the Cubs will blow it open.
  2. I thought for sure I was going to see Werth having a great line against Arrieta in his career but nope, he's 2-9 with a HR, 4 RBI and a walk.
  3. Did the Yankees really get cute in the Wild Card game? Severino got lit up right away and Girardi didn't want to let it get out of hand. Sure, Severino could have recovered and gone 6 innings allowing 3 or 4 runs. But if Girardi leaves Severino in and he gives up more runs and they lose, Girardi gets torched in the media. He knew he had a stud pen and they did exactly what he hoped they would (8 2/3, 5 H, 1 R). I'd also argue that the Sale thing worked for a while since he got 4 scoreless innings. Maybe Farrell just left him in too long (I can't speak for how he looked in his fifth inning since I wasn't watching). The other three, though, I 100% agree with you.
  4. I didn't see all the numbers but their record is 4-16.
  5. So the Joel Embiid max extension is probably going to be a disaster for the Sixers, right? I hope it works out for them because he was really good when he was on the court but 5/148 for a guy who has played 31 games in 3 years doesn't seem smart.
  6. Houston vs Cleveland might be the most entertaining ALCS of all time Houston-New York would be 11-9 every game.
  7. Hold them here and the top of the order will give Wade a chance to close it out.
  8. Cubs getting no hit by the Nats through 5. I feel like I've seen this movie before and enjoyed the ending.
  9. Jerry Jones said after today's game that any Cowboys player who doesn't stand for the anthem won't play. It won't happen but man I want to see like 30 players call his bluff next week and kneel.
  10. Had a bad eighth inning pitching in one game of every round also - Game 3 vs SF, Game 1 vs LA and Game 7.
  11. I assume it would get moved back if the AL series end in sweeps. Boston is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern so I don't know if they would move that back to 7 p.m. ET (Yankees start time) if the Indians win tomorrow or if they'd just move each game back 3 hours. If both AL series sweep, then it gets moved back to 5. If either the Yankees or Red Sox win, then the start time stays the same. Well in that case, go Indians and Astros tomorrow.

  13. So mojo is banned from going to any more Cubs games in the playoffs, right?
  14. Very concerned about this and a gimpy Arrieta Scherzer is gimpy also.
  15. LOL. Apparently the Cubs had Davis as the setup man last year according the Darling.
