  1. I know you wanted Ajax but this should still be a solid final. Neither team is going to sit back and try and defend. You’re not going to get any cynical cheap fouling [expletive] like you might from Real Madrid or Juve. It might not be quite as open as Liverpool-Ajax might have been but that might actually make it a closer game. I feel like with how Ajax routinely pushed a bunch of dudes forward that Liverpool likely would have picked them apart on the counter. Liverpool is definitely favored but Spurs outplayed them at Anfield at the end of March and probably should have won. Even if I wasn’t a Spurs fan, I’d be looking forward to it because it’s something different in the UCL.
  2. Why did they bring Ryan in for one batter? It wasn’t even a lefty.
  3. Since he went out they’ve lost 5 of the 8 matches they’ve played. Since he went out, they scored 5 goals in 5 EPL games, but 4 of those were against the bottom club in the league. And it’s not like they had nothing to play for since top-4 was up in the balance. They’re certainly not much better when Kane is out.
  4. I’m shaking right now. I can’t believe that just happened.
  5. SOCCER IS AMAZING.
  6. I'm certainly not talking about betting odds. I'm talking about the teams we have to see every. goddam. year. yea, I'm with you. I'll be pulling hard for Ajax in the final though as long as RM, Juve or Spurs didn't win I am good. The big teams will reload pretty quickly though so it will be back to status quo within a year or two. Frankly, Barca solved its biggest problem already by signing De Jong - as much as I love Busquets, he's become a huge defensive liability. Why the Spurs hate, Arsenal or Chelsea fan?
  7. the favorite won The couple sites I was able to find pre-first leg odds had Barcelona at -135 to -145 to advance. 538 had it as pretty much 50/50 before the tie.
  8. Especially if you're gong to do that . Thank god he didn't go to 3rd They owed us one for last night.
  9. Probably had Heyward at third. I'll take it.
  10. Second straight year Barcelona blew a 3 goal lead from the first leg.
  11. Some crazy horsefeathers going on at Anfield right now.
  12. Slow game thread tonight. I assume everyone is watching Blazers-Nuggets instead.
  13. Darvish thinks 81 pitches is 3 innings worth of work, 4 if he's pitching well.
