    Or the Cubs pass up the Cardinals but also get passed up by Milwaukee for the division. I could live with that if the Nats got the other WC. I wouldn’t be happy with it but at least the Cards would be out.

    We are getting a Cubs-Brewers WC game The pessimist in me has thought for weeks that we’re going to be 2 games up going into the St Louis series and get swept. I could also see us winning tonight, taking 2 of the first 3 this weekend, lead late on Sunday only to blow the game.

    I, for one, don’t believe not winning the next 5 straight keeps them from the playoffs. If we win tomorrow and win 3 of 4 from St Louis, we’re either tied or a game up on St Louis going into three games with Pittsburgh. That puts us in decent shape.

    Well at least the Cards are going to lose. Would be nice to only be one back with Scherzer facing them tomorrow though. If we win tomorrow and they lose it’s fine.
