  1. They were piling on abuck. It was pretty bad.
  2. Cal's secondray really is missing Mixon. That was embarassing by the backup freshman.
  3. What an INT! Longshore is struggling.
  4. Dear Nate Longshore, Please get rid of the ball earlier. Thanks, Pac-10 Fan Who Doesn't Want His Conference Embarassed ---------------------- Oregon up big on Stanford after 3: 34-10. Jonathan Stewart is having a great coming out game for the Ducks. And the second I pimp up Stewart, he sprains his ankle (doesn't sound too serious, though). ----------------------- 40 more minutes!
  5. So Holliman is starting game 1, Berg should start game 2 then.
  6. Thanks, Nate! I was hoping someone from Daytona who had been injured for a bit would go too (Petrick, Berg, Phelps), but I guess not. Is there a reason they changed Koerber from instructs?
  7. Listen to this man. :D
  8. Ron, did the Giants play Game 7 of the 2002 World Series extra bad because Bonds was on the team? Did Felix Rodriguez and Tim Rodriguez perform poorly in the late innings of Game 6 of the 2002 World Series because of Barry?
  9. Frank Thomas was a White Sock last season (an injured one, but a White Sock all the same). And it wasn't the first season he's missed due to injury - but it was the first time the White Sox had won a World Series with him hurt. It probably had a lot to do with their fantastic starting pitching. Stats like that are pointless. There are other stats that should be paid attention to because they have enough of a sample, can be used to predict things and are important to judge the player or team's play.
  10. Vance, you're in luck. While Jeff Niemann started yesterday, it looks like Andy Sonnanstine will start today for Montgomery. Some of the regulars might get the day off though, since Montgomery clinched their playoff spot yesterday.
  11. I just don't want to get involved in a thread that might never end.
  12. I'm trying to avoid this thread...but I have a question. Is the player supposed to move the runner over or is he trying to get a hit, and as he fails, he is still able to move the runner over?
  13. Man, it's weird to see a conference game in the first weekend. Oregon's going to kill Stanford. Go Cal! Go UCLA!
  14. Cain and Lincecum are going to be a great 1-2 punch in a few years. Let's see how Sabean/Felipe Alou can screw that up.
  15. Feltner is a JC kid too - why did the Cubs lose him?
  16. IF Reid Brignac SP Andy Sonnanstine
  17. Daytona is the only one I can think of, and I'm not sure if he did or not. Until last year he won the championship at every level he's been at (last year his team made the playoffs, although he didn't play because of his injury, but they lost the championship series). Daytona wound up as co-champions when he played there two years ago; the championship series was cancelled because of a hurricane (I believe the same hurricane that resulted in the postponement of the entire series when the Cubs were supposed to play in Miami). Hurricane Ivan. Pie was with the Boise and Mesa teams that won the AZL and NWL championships in 2002. He was with Lansing when they won the MWL in 2003. He was with the 2004 Daytona team that won the co-championship. And his 2005 Jaxx team at least advanced to the SL championship team although he was out the whole second half.
  18. Really? It's been in place since Hendry has been around, at least. I believe it was Juan Cruz who missed a chance at a no-hitter because he reached the limit back in Lansing. Yeah, it was Cruz.
