  1. If they wanted to save time, they should have looked into not stopping the clock after first downs.
  2. Boise tied at 3 in the top of the 8th. They don't need to go to extra innings the night before the playoffs start.
  3. There is no clear-cut #1, but Price has as good a shot as anyone else. Others who have been talked about highly and could possibly go #1: RHP Andrew Brackman, North Carolina State C Matt Wieters, Georgia Tech RHP Matt Harvey, HS (Connecticut) RHP Michael Main, HS (Florida) SS Justin Jackson, HS (North Carolina) So even if we are #2 or #3 in the fecal league, we should still have our pick of a really good player, right? Yeah, this should be a really strong draft...especially at the high school levels. Frankly, I'd love Wieters or Price.
  4. Nah, they start tomorrow in Boise. Looks like bad weather will plague them during the whole playoff series: it should be smoky in Boise with the wildfires around and then there's a chance for rain in Keizer for each of the last 3 games. Boise jumps ahead in the top of the 2nd on a Josh Lansford solo HR.

  6. Mark Pawelek (game 1 starter) and C Matt Canepa, amongst others, are already in Boise, resting and getting ready for the NWL finals. Jose Ceda did not get hurt last time when he went 2 innings. Brian and splendid splinter were right, Ceda was just switching with Muldowney for the rotation. Apparently it's smoky and not air quality-wise nice in Boise due to some wildfires in the area - conditions should be the same for game 1 tomorrow.
  7. Ouch, paid attendance at Beloit was 355.
  8. The Peoria Chiefs lose game 1 of their first round playoff series, 2-0. The opposing pitcher threw a 99-pitch complete game shutout.

  11. Nathan, CBS is right. Cubs are up 1-0 and Bay didn't hit a HR.
  12. Haha, in the Peoria playoff game, Nathan Balivia even announced that Bay hit a HR off Hill. 8-[ Speaking off, Peoria is 3 outs away from losing game 1 of their playoff series (they're down 2-0).

  16. Top of the 7th inning for the Chiefs: Ryan Norwood HBP. Garcia GIDP. Reynolds strikes out swinging. Pino only has 75 pitches. Nathan notes that Beloit has a weak bullpen with no real closer. At the 7th inning stretch, Beloit is winning 2-0.

  19. Go Rich! Fred, when are you getting into the LA metro area? And when will you find out where you next from Rancho?
  20. Mitch Atkins' 5th inning: Atkins vs. Portes: Full count single. Nathan notes that the ball 3 pitch was the exact same pitch that Reed was called out on in the top of the inning.
