  1. Probably why he isn't starting.
  2. Just got in. Go Bears! Boo fakes is right...
  3. Wow, A-Train with an 18-yard TD for Buffalo, they're up 17-7 on New England.
  4. Well.... up until June of 1876 I followed the exploits of Goerge Custer with a great deal of interest. What football ??? Bears don't start untill 15:15, eh? Just getting warmed up for the Bears. How are you going to watch the Bears game, sir?
  5. Atlanta up 13-3 on Carolina. Poor ndistops.
  6. It's awesome, better than pro.
  7. Fred...what did you do before 1876!? :P (Thanks for the PBP for those of us who are primarily watching football.)
  8. Thanks, Quaker. In regards to the Colvin play you missed, it sounded like Tyler dove for a ball he thought he could catch but it fell in front of him and went past him. Wasn't ruled an error, though. Disappointing to hear Colvin was strugging against the breaking pitch - he had been great in the first two games of the series. I hope today's game goes better. Please let me know what Renshaw looks like - his scouting report come draft time was pretty good (91-94 FB, mid-80s curve) and he's had moderate success at Boise.
  9. It's the same for the LA area and I don't know that I want to go to a bar to catch the game. :|
  10. I'd be pleased with that game from Grossman. I'm pumped and ready to go.
  11. new favorite post of all time I'm glad you said it cause there's no way I coulda let that slide. Depending on how one interpreted that statement, it could either mean one team is doing bad or else it's the best in stadium promotion ever invented. Heh, explain the 15-0 part. :P
  12. First start in the big leagues in over a year. I would take a healthy Wade Miller over a guy like Angel Guzman. A healthy and rust-free Guzman? Maybe, maybe not.
  13. If Boise loses, their season is over (and this would be the last minor league game thread of the year!)... NWL Finals Game 1: Boise won 5-1, leads series 1-0 Game 2: Salem-Keizer won 5-0, series tied 1-1 Game 3: Salem-Keizer won 2-1 (11 innings), lead series 2-1 Game 4: Sun., Sept. 10, Boise @ Salem-Keizer, 7:05 pm CDT Game 5 (if needed): Mon., Sept. 11, Boise @ Salem-Keizer, 8:35 pm CDT Probable Starters: NWL Finals - Game 3: RHP Jake Renshaw (1-3, 4.24 ERA; overall: 1-4, 4.87 ERA) @ RHP Kevin Pucetas (7-1, 2.17 ERA) Renshaw (Boise & Mesa): 44.1 IP, 37 K/12 BB Game Time Weather, Keizer, OR: 80°F, sunny, 20% chance of precipitation
  14. We have to worry about voters who only read box scores. Penn State's feelings shouldn't be any part of Coach Weis' thought process. Playing the game to win with your best players should never be seen as being unsportsmanlike. Lets face it---you all are focusing on anything other than the fact that Notre Dame just completely took apart your program. Thats fine---I wouldn't want to think about my team being humiliated this soon either. You're right. The voters don't pay much attention to Notre Dame, especially when they play Penn State. They'll just check the box score. It's classless when Spurrier does it. When Pom Pom does it. When Mack Brown did it last week. And it's classless when Weiss does it.
  15. Box Score Boise lost their series in a 6-4 loss, box score: CF M. Camp 2/5, R, K, E (1, fielding) SS M. Matulia 2/5, SB (3), CS (1) LF T. Colvin 2/4, R, K 1B R. Canzler 2/4, R, 2 RBI, K RF A. Joseph 1/4, RBI 3B J. Lansford 2/4, RBI, K 2B S. Clevenger 0/4, K, E (2, missed catch) DH DJ Lewis 1/3, R, 2B (1), BB SP J. Renshaw 3 IP, 4 R, 3 ER, 5 H, 4 K/3 BB, HR, 4 GO-1 FO RP A. Maestri 3 IP, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 4 K/0 BB, HBP, WP, 4 GO-2 FO
  16. Rocky Roquet uncorks a wild pitch over the batter's head (!) on a 1-2 count allowing the game-winning run to score for Salem-Keizer. The Hawks are now down 2-1 in the series and will send Jake Renshaw in a do-or-die game.
  17. Runners at second and third with two outs for Salem-Keizer in the bottom of the 11th (single, single which was misplayed by Tyler Colvin in LF allowing the runners to advance)...
  18. Or a passing TD from the ND starting QB to the ND starting RB in the 4th quarter with a 31 point lead? It's bush league and it's all about Weis' ego - especially the trick play late in the 3rd. You want more blatant running up the score? Check out Pom Pom Pete.
  19. Wow, that was an embarassing game for UCLA. Four turnovers, only beat Rice 26-16. Complete opposite of last wee - Ben Olson was awful, awful, awful but the rushing game was spectacular this time around. Chris Markey had a career high in rushing yards (over 200) and Kahlil Bell topped 100 yards rushing too. The defense continues to impress (outside of one play on the speed option) - including a stand at the 5 yard line after a muffed punt.
  20. Mercedes is at third, with two outs, for Tyler Colvin... EDIT: Hawks didn't score - sorry, was watching the end of the UCLA game, so I didn't know what happened. Anyways, Rocky Roquet is now in pitching for the Hawks in the bottom of the 10th.
  21. Ugh...Matt Canepa hit in the head by a fastball. He never went down, he squatted for about 15 seconds and walked off on his own assistance. Canepa out, Mario Mercedes pinch running for Canepa.
