  1. Al Michaels desperately trying to jinx Gould.
  2. Yeah, Eli is much better than Rex. TILLMAN! :D
  3. Isn't that what everyone criticizes Benson for? Benson can't do worse than Jones on pass blocking AND he can run. Benson blocked better than Jones last week.
  4. Grossman has to hold on to the ball better. The Bears line is garbage, Jones can't pass block. Benson sure was doing better last week. Screw this team.
  5. How about we block, this time, Tait.
  6. At this point, I could block better than our RBs, apparently. And I'm 5'7" 160 lbs.
  7. Felix Pie only came in today as a defensive replacement, didn't get any ABs.
  8. No delay of game on 3rd down? I'll take it with the failed FG. :D
  9. Man, NBC and ESPN hype up the Sunday night and Monday night games soooooo much it's annoying.
  10. I like the second article, Tim.
  11. I'm wondering if this stuff transfers over to the new CBA, though. The classifications don't apply to the CBA, but either way, it came out after the new CBA.
  12. I've read on another board that Kaplan also said that the Japanese team might think the BoSox offer is fishy (blocking another team or something), and might take the 2nd highest bid, which he said the Cubs would stand much more of a chance then. Did he mention this? 24 still wouldn't beat Texas or NY, but it gives us a little more hope. Seibu only got the dollar value of the highest bidder, they don't know what team made that bid. They can think the bid is fishy, but they'd have to bring it up with MLB.
  13. Fair enough. Try this out for size, from Jim Callis of BA:
  14. Checked the mentioned station and it was in fact LA's ESPN Radio (710 AM). The poster also had like 700 posts so it doesn't look like he's a random newbie troll. He also mentioned they said that it could be done by tonight, and that yesterday they said ARam wasn't coming back for sure so to take them with a grain of salt or something. Thanks for the heads up, will listen to 710 (though I'm sure it's wall-to-wall NFL coverage despite no NFL teams in LA).
  15. Great avatar. http://reds.enquirer.com/2003/10/12/nlcs_150x200.jpg
  16. Quoting myself since too many posts past to edit... Since Wood is back and likely in the pen, what about a Jones+Dempster for Hudson deal? Atlanta gets rid of any '09 obligation, as well as at least 10 million total salary, plus a serviceable OF and a bullpen project like they've taken on before(Sosa, Reitsma, etc). A Zambrano, Schmidt, Hudson, Hill, Prior/Miller/youngster rotation would be fun. I know you've been advocating Hudson because his cumulative peripherals in 06 werent a ton different than 05, but I thought when we dug deeper, it looked like 05 was more of a lucky year than 06 being unlucky? I agree, I'm afraid of Hudson going forward.
  17. I'm guessing most of them would have gotten drunk irregardless and just checked NSBB because they knew the pending deadline. Normally they'd be wiser than to check out NSBB while drunk. Your mom would be disappointed in you. :( Oh hush up, it was a typo!
  18. Woot, UCLA clinging in there in the top 50! Guess those moral victories do add up. Keep it up, Dorrell.
  19. This is something that Cuse said in last weeks thread, but i wanted to bring the discussion over here. This is one of my main problems with the polling system. Earlier in the season, Florida's wins over Auburn, Tennessee and LSU looked really, impressive (not that they still arent quality wins, just some of the shine has been taken off.) Anyway, those wins look great, so Florida is highly ranked. Now, those teams lose a few more games, and the wins don't look as good. But what can you do if Florida doesn't lose? Florida's ranking is based on the strength of those wins, and they won't fall in the rankings unless they lose, no matter if Auburn, Tennessee and LSU lose every remaining game. Now, I'm not singling out Florida here, just using them as an example. Nice post, I think most (if not all) of us agree.
  20. Unless the Cubs have really changed their philosophy they will do what they normally do and wait until he is fully off the cliff and then run him out of town while picking up most of what's left of his contract. Correct.
