  1. How much is Cal down by? 4, they need the TD.
  2. Longshore better not screw this up.
  3. Gah. He was out of bounds. Cal at the AZ 41, 2:12 left.
  4. 2 block FGs and 1 block PAT. Cal scores but it's being reviewed.
  5. Cal has to go 75 yards in about 2 minutes and change to try to win this game.
  6. 48-yard attempt...
  7. Costly penalty. Yeesh.
  8. They're in Succop's range, but he better not get blocked again.
  9. Geez. Longshore is awful today. Cal punting with 5 minutes left in the game, down 24-20, with 2 timeouts.
  10. Man, those ST mistakes by South Carolina are looming large now.
  11. And now they're showing lowlights from the UCLA-Arizona game last year. :(
  12. Lavell Hawkins catches a huge bomb but stumbles and falls at the 1. Then, Cal's offense bogs down at the 1 and they settle for a FG. Arizona up 24-20. South Carolina up 16-10 against Florida.
  13. I understand what you're saying, but budgetary principles can be stupid things to hang onto. Lets say you have to buy 2 items: You need to buy a TV and a DVD player. You have a fixed amount of money to spend on both. You go into Best Buy saying you want to spend no more than $1000 on the TV, and $300 on the DVD player. You bring $1300 with you. You get there, and you see an unbelievably good TV for $1150. It's more than what you resolved to spend, but it will make a huge difference in picture quality. Do you stick to your budgetary principle and get the inferioir TV that will get you by, and get your nice DVD player with a bunch of options, or do you change your budget around, get the nice TV that will make even a poor DVD player look awesome, and get a midrange DVD player? This is what Hendry is faced with. He has the choice between the really good 3B and a cheap bench, or an average 3B and a moderately priced bench. Which is going to make a bigger difference? Both will cost the same net amount of money; its where you allocate your funds that makes the difference. why should we buy a tv and dvd player when we can get 8 vcr's? Well played, Treeman. Well played? I think the point is an obvious one that no one on this board is disagreeing with. It should be noted that Ramirez may still sign with the Cubs. He's not gone yet. It also should be noted that I never said I agreed with Hendry. In fact, I said the opposite. I said sign him and move on. In other words, pay the man. Do what it takes to get the job done. That's what I want him to do in this instance. The above quote was written in response to people thinking they know exactly why Hendry wasn't going to sign Ramirez and that it was because he had spent 3 million on Rusch, 1.5 million on Miller and so on. The above quote showed that wasn't necessarily the reason why Hendry might choose not to resign someone. He might choose not to resign them because he doesn't think they are worth what they are asking and doesn't want to handcuff the team in the future. Or it could be a slew of other reasons that we don't know anything about. But I think the time is now to overspend. And I think Ramirez is worth overspending to keep. Thats the problem with message boards. People don't take the time to read everything, only quote certain passages and then wind up unintentionally taking things out of context. I still think it was well played and funny.
  14. Longshore picked off, Antoine Cason (a future first rounder) with the pick-6. Arizona is up 24-17. 21 straight points for Arizona.
  15. Maybe I'm bias but I see nothing about Florida that says they are the second best team in the nation. Uhh, I think you mean the third best team. Florida's offense is so gimicky, they shouldn't run so many trick plays. Game tied at 10 with 10:49 left.
  16. BS pass interference call against Hughes as he intercepts a pass. Arizona is going to tie thanks to a BS call. That's the second time this drive that Cal has intercepted a pass and it's been called back on a penalty. Touchdown Arizona, game tied at 17.
  17. Mesa loses 13-10, box: 2B E. Patterson 2/4, BB (11), K (12), SB (12) C J. Fox 2/5, 2 R, 2B (5), HR (1), 3 RBI (18), E (2, missed catch) 3B S. Moore 2/4, R, RBI (13) RP L. Holdzkom 3 IP, 7 ER, 5 H, 2 K/4 BB, HBP, HR, 5 GO-2 FO, 54 pitches (24 strikes) Overall: Eric Patterson: 34/95, .358/.419/.495/.914, 11 BB, 12 K, 12/14 SB, 6 E Jake Fox: 15/59, .254/.279/.390/.669, 2 BB, 10 K, 1/1 SB, 2 E, 2 PB Scott Moore: 24/91, .264/.362/.473/.835, 14 BB, 22 K, 4/5 SB, 3 E Lincoln Holdzkom: 18.2 IP, 17 R, 14 ER, 18 H, 18 K/8 BB, 6.75 ERA, 1.39 WHIP I have NO clue why Pat Listach is trying to make Holdzkom throw so many innings each outing.
  18. Never mind about the Florida momentum, they apparently want to run some gimmick offensive sets with Tebow and go out of FG range. Meanwhile in Tucson, Arizona scores a TD to make it 17-10 Cal.
  19. I never get to see the PAC 10 or Big 12. We always get the Big 10 and SEC. I expect you'll be able to see next week's Cal-USC game, but most of the Pac-10 games are locally televised (on FSN) outside of a few USC games and when a team plays a big team out of conference (Cal-Tennessee, Oklahoma-Oregon, UCLA-Notre Dame).
  20. That was hilarious. Huge momentum-shifter with the FG block.
  21. Wow, DeSean Jackson nearly returned another punt for a TD. Arizona's offense is embarassing.
  22. Wow, Arizona is going for it on 4th and 1 from their own 30 in the first minutes of the second half. And they got it (on the replay, it looks like they shouldn't have gotten it)
  23. USC definitely will have a chance if they beat Cal and ND. Are you getting the Cal game? nope, unfortunately. They need to run Lynch more. He had an 80-yard touchdown wiped out on a block in the back penalty (the drive they got a FG on). The touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson was pretty, but besides those 3 plays, the offense hasn't looked great. Especially Longshore. hows the anemic Arizona O looking against cal's D? Tuitama is garbage. He keeps throwing off target, I don't know how much Cal's defense has had to do with that since Tuitama does that against every team. I still can't believe UCLA gave up 52 points to this loser last year. :x
  24. USC definitely will have a chance if they beat Cal and ND. Are you getting the Cal game? nope, unfortunately. They need to run Lynch more.
