  1. Clay probably will be added to the 40-man, the deadline is 11/20 (next Monday).
  2. Dude, that's the second time Muskat has mentioned OBP in the last week. Wow.
  3. Tim Wilken gushes over Colvin in a Scout.com story. (Sorry for the bump but I didn't want to start another Tyler Colvin thread.)
  4. Adam Harben's AFL season is over because of that elbow soreness. No one has replaced him on Mesa's roster yet.
  5. Does that mean I was right about the 6-6 teams not getting invited until after all winning record teams get invited? Even if true, UCLA would probably still get a bowl as they're a pretty big name, and IIRC when I did a quick estimate a few days back it looked like about 8 6-6 teams would go to bowls. Yeah, I think you're correct. I would think 6-6 teams would only get invited after teams with winning records. In UCLA's case, the Bruins can be invited at 6-6 but up to eight Pac-10 teams might qualify for bowl games and the conference only has ties to six bowl games.
  6. Ooo, if UCLA wins, they'll qualify for a bowl game but won't be invited (unless they can somehow beat USC too).
  7. Well, he went to instructs in Mesa to work on three things: bunting, pitch selection and base running. He's been bunting well from what I can tell in the PBP. Yes, he's perfect with the base running...but only 3 SB attempts is odd. And pitch selection? All I have to say about that is 14 K/1 BB.
  8. Mesa game suspended, tied 5-5 after 11, box: 2B E. Patterson 1/5, RBI (13), SB (13) LF S. Moore 1/5, R, 3B (2), 2 K (24), HBP RP C. Pignatiello 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 4 K/2 BB, 1 GO-0 FO, 30 pitches (16 strikes) RP C. Rapada 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 3 GO-0 FO, 12 pitches (6 strikes) Overall: Eric Patterson: 35/100, .350/.414/.480/.894, 11 BB, 12 K, 13/15 SB, 6 E Scott Moore: 25/96, .260/.360/.479/.839, 1 HBP, 14 BB, 24 K, 4/5 SB, 3 E Carmen Pignatiello: 8 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 14 K/4 BB, 1.13 ERA, 0.88 WHIP Clay Rapada: 13 IP, 4 ER, 9 H, 16 K/2 BB, 2.77 ERA, 0.58 WHIP
  9. Bwahhahaha. And people predicted they'd finish ahead of UCLA in the Pac-10. They can't play defense.
  10. If he develops at Iowa, he has a lot of value in a trade - which would help the Cubs a lot more than any bench role he has.
  11. Wait...weren't CT and goony at the Victor Diaz game? We might be in trouble here, folks.
  12. More of a utility guy who can do emergency catcher, imo.
  13. Seems like the Lions are going to take all the allocated time before they make a decision. How long does it take to decide if you're going to accept millions of dollars? It's not like they're going to deny the bid. They're desperate for money. It might take that long to get all the board of directors together for the meeting.
  14. So he's got last year's team back together and everyone's healthy as of now (sans Prior?). That was the bare minimum. Yes, the team as constructed is probably not a 96-loss team again, but it'd still struggle to be a .500 team. Color me not excited yet. Hendry has the rest of the offseason to improve the team or screw up. I'll be more interested in grading him then.
  15. I have no problem with one at age 32. Rosenthal makes the same point that Tim, Outshined and others have already made in this thread...Aramis at age 32 is not the same as Aramis at age 28, opting out might not be in his best interest. He'd be past his prime.
  16. Caribes lose 5-2, box: PH-CF C. Walker 1/1, SB (16) Leones lose 8-7, box: C H. Blanco 1/4, BB (4), K (7), SB (1) - dropped to 9th in the lineup Tigres lose 6-1, box: SS R. Cedeño 0/3, BB (1) K (9) CF B. Coats 1/3 Overall: Chris Walker (Caribes): 22/94, .234/.345/.309/.654, 3 HBP, 13 BB, 21 K, 16/19 SB Henry Blanco (Leones): 14/66, .212/.268/.364/.632, 1 HBP, 4 BB, 7 K, 1/1 SB Ronny Cedeño (Tigres): 7/38, .184/.225/.211/.436, 1 HBP, 1 BB, 9 K, 0/2 SB Buck Coats (Tigres): 18/76, .237/.310/.368/.678, 1 HBP, 7 BB, 11 K, 3 HR, 1/1 SB
  17. I was searching for that pic but it wasn't up yet. :( I love that pic!
  18. Hermosillo wins 10-8, box: SP L. Walrond 7 IP, 2 ER, 8 H, 6 K/2 BB, HBP, WP, 10 GO-5 FO Culiacan loses game 1 of a doubleheader 7-2 (7 innings), box: 3B C. 19. The game is at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ. The game is on FOX. http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/sp/getty/41/full.getty-71465387mh022_chicago_bears_10_55_46_pm.jpg
  20. Sorry, I forgot you would be an absolutely perfect NFL ref, and make even the toughest calls every time. My bad. dude, are you going to deny any of what we are saying were bs calls? even those you concede cost the Bears 3 points. you are right, the roughing call was weak, I said so at the time, although that is the rule. be a man and stand up and admit that you got some calls tonight. Most people wouldn't even be posting at this point, so Shavo's a stand up guy in my book. Agreed.
  21. Wow. That's horrible. Grossman? Moose? Tillman?
  22. There were at least 5 game threads longer than this, and I'm pretty sure there was a Juan Pierre thread longer, and the Aramis thread in Transactions now is longer. It's long, but it's not by any stretch near the top. There were some CRAZY long Maddux and Nomar threads. Longest non-Cub thread. BEARS WIN! BEARS WIN! BEARS WIN! CHITCHAT!
