  1. Wow, vance.
  2. If I were the Marlins, I'd ask for Pence over Taveras.
  3. I'd go that route if I were the Marlins, since Hughes is likely not going to be traded for someone like Willis (and shouldn't be).
  4. =; Nothing can ever do any harm to Andre Dawson. Except maybe an Eric Show fastball, no? Grrr...
  5. But Albuquirque is such a short drive, no? Restaurants with bars are an even shorter drive. :)
  6. I have to agree with MojoPin/davhern/cheapseats' assesment. =; Nothing can ever do any harm to Andre Dawson.
  7. Damn that was smart of them. But, stingy too. Not really smart, Pauley is going to be really quiet during finals week and winter break (and we play Texas A & M then).
  8. Grrr...SF vs. New Orleans!?
  9. Ugh, I just found out that student section tickets are in current Bruin Cards (IDs). In the past, students could just hand off their ticket to other students/alum (say, during finals week or winter break), but no more.
  10. Sigh...Pat Cowan to start on Saturday for UCLA. It's like Karl Dorrell is acting like his job isn't on the line...I sure hope it is. :( Sorry Michigan/Florida fans!

  15. Good stuff, Chris. Thanks! A lot of credit goes to Rosario for fixing Mark Pawelek's mechanics after Mark ended up in the Boise pen and when he started again, he was doing much better. Nice to see Rosario follow Pawelek up a level. Supposedly Jeff Samardzija also had nice words for Rosario.
  16. I can't endorse any deal in which Patterson is traded. And yes, I know Kendrick is a better prospect than him. I'm just stubborn. I really don't get the lust over Patterson. He's far from an untouchable. Because, he came in as an 8th round draft pick and I was the most excited about it at the time, and a lot of people doubt him but he has succeeded along the way so far. It's like when you have a favorite band and they're pretty obscure, and then they start to make it big - you feel like you discovered them. What can I say, I'm just liked the kid from when he was drafted, thought he'd be a real solid major leaguer for the Cubs, and I'm still hoping it happens. Ehh, you should check out the draft day thread back in 04. There were a few people (me included) who were pissed that the Cubs were passing on him in, like, round 6.
  17. Sam Baker, a junior at LT at USC.
  18. Culiacan lost 4-2, box: 3B C. McGehee 1/4 Gusave lost 3-2, box: 3B I. Salas 0/3 Overall: Casey McGehee (Culiacan): 49/152, .322/.386/.467/.853, 5 HR, 7 2B, 17 BB, 14 K, 1/2 SB, 8 E Issmael Salas (Gusave): 14/53, .264/.316/.340/.656, 1 HR, 1 2B, 4 BB, 8 K, 1/2 SB
  19. Yeah. I'm not a fan of an offense with 3 major weak spots (Izturis, Pie, pitcher).
  20. I think some people put too much credence into the minor leaguers' stats in Latin American winter leagues (esp. those in the DR and Venzeuela) where the primary objective is to win and not to develop these kids.
  21. Sweet, Scott Brosius and Dante Bichette!
  22. Got 3" at Big Bear and Mtn High yesterday. :) Mtn High actually opened today...by Thursday, I predict it will be all slush and rocks. Debating between Mammoth and Tahoe in January.
