  1. Exactly. How can you have a guy like Khryapa who hasn't played in several games get close to 20 minutes tonight? How can guys like Tyrus, Thabo, and Sweetney not even play? His substitutions are maddening and most of the time, they make no sense. The whole deal of benching Gordon and starting Duhon is absurd. Duhon is a good defender, but he doesn't do anything on offense. And when he starts, it moves Hinrich to the 2 where he is not comfortable at all. If Gordon starts, not only would it help us on offense, but it brings Kirk back to his natural position. I think it's reached the point of just being defiant. "Oh yeah, you think Gordon should start? Well guess what. You're not the coach, I am!" It sure looked like the plan was for Hinrich to bring it up and get it to Gordon but couldn't when Kidd stripped the ball and had to get up that desperation shot himself.
  2. Licey beat Cibao 14-1: RP J. Mateo 1 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 K/1 BB Overall: Juan Mateo (Licey): 7 IP, 2 ER, 7 H, 8 K/1 BB, 2 HR, 2.57 ERA, 1.14 WHIP
  3. I never believed Skiles was a coach who could lead the Bulls to the promised land - not with his personality vs. the types of players needed for a championship run. The most aggravating thing for me has always been Skiles piss poor subsitutions and rotations. Gordon not starting and Duhon getting so much playing time are the most egregious example.
  4. It took me a while to realize Monday is MLK Jr. Day. Wish I had it off. :(
  5. Final regular season stats: Geovany Soto (Arecibo): 13/73, .178/.228/.274/.502, 5 BB, 19 K, 7 2B Federico Báez (Manati): 24.2 IP (14 G, 1 GS), 12 R, 11 ER, 21 H, 13 K/11 BB, 1 HR, 4.01 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, .219 BAA, 3 S Arecibo advanced to the playoffs.
  6. I'm not the biggest Ginn fan, but you know he's going to do well in the combines and test well. If I were him, I'd go. He certainly has the talent to play in the NFL right now, and if he stays to prove he can stay healthy, he'd likely be a top 5 pick. If he goes to the NFL now, he'll be a top 15 pick. Meanwhile, if he were to suffer another season-ending injury (another broken collarbone, a la Charles Rogers) he'd certainly fall out of the first round. I say, take the millions while you can. The life span of a RB is especially short, and if you're gonna take a pounding carrying the ball 200 or 300 times, get paid for it if you can. Exactly.
  7. Mel doesnt have any other CB in his top 25. (I havent looked at other boards yet). So who would be. I like a couple of juniors more than Hall - Antoine Cason of Arizona (has not yet declared, but I think he will) and Darrelle Revis of Pitt (declared yesterday).

  15. I don't think Oden will turn pro, but Durant is a nice fall back option.

  18. I know a few of you have hoped for Landry dropping to the Bears, but I just don't see it happening (same for Florida's Reggie Nelson).
  19. As annoying as it may be, there's a reason. The goodoleboys routinely field the best football teams, with the exception of ND. If you want the system to change, you have to do more than just complain. Cuse, You and I had a conversation much earlier in the year and you suggested that the SEC's true ability would be "exposed" during the bowl season. I truly wasn't going to open my mouth after the bowl season, but your hatred of the SEC continues to affect your ability to evaluate in my opinion. The SEC was 6-3 in bowl games, and they legitimately could have been 9-0. Alabama lost to Oklahoma State on a last minute field goal. Kentucky beat Clemson 28-20. South Carolina beat Houston 44-36. Georgia beat Virginia Tech 31-24 Tennessee lost to Penn state, but the game was tied 10-10 with less than 10 minutes left. The Vols had possession, were driving down the field, fumbled the ball into hands of a Penn State player whom returned the fumble for a touchdown. Auburn beat Nebraska 17-14 Arkansas lost to Wisconsin 14-17. Arkansas outgained the Badgers 367-203 but found a way to lose that game. LSU beat Notre Dame 41-14 Florida beat Ohio State 41-14. The SEC certainly was down for a few years, but I don't believe this year can be included in that statement. And Houston, Nebraska, Clemson and VTech could have won those games too making them 2-7. I said the SEC was solid. It's just not the end all of college football. I really wish the Big East could have played some SEC or Big 10 teams in the bowls to truely see but once again in college football we will never know and have to debate it. Do you remember when a 12-0 Auburn was left out of the BCS Championship game and how it felt to be left out? Well, that's how I felt about Louisville. Louisville shouldn't have lost then. That's the nature of the system, if a team loses, they no longer control their destiny (sans Boise State).
  20. Shame on the two of you who voted for Stephen A. Smith.
  21. I guess it's being in LA, but Plaschke.
