  1. Arizona is an embarassment to the Pac-10. But hey, I enjoy Lute bitch about UCLA, say Jordan Farmar or Arron Afflalo aren't complete players ("Farmar can't go left" "Afflalo can't drive on the Wildcats") and then watch those two torch the Wildcats doing exactly what Lute said they couldn't do. Four in a row, Lute. Four in a row.
  2. From everything Wilken and co. have said, it looks like Samardzija is going to be starting at Daytona.
  3. Licey loses 10-2, Carlos Marmol somehow has his worst outing yet: RP C. Marmol 0 IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 0 K/0 BB, 1 HR Overall: Carlos Marmol (Licey): 13.1 IP, 16 ER, 21 H, 13 K/5 BB, 2 HR, 10.80 ERA, 1.95 WHIP
  4. Link Topics: - Samardzija - Pie - Blasko/Brownlie/Hagerty (Oneri: if any of them are healthy, expect them in the Daytona pen) - Dopirak/Harvey (Dope: completely healthy) - Fox - Sandberg managing at Peoria
  5. That's the first time I've heard Aaron Brooks sitting being bad for his team. What? Wrong sport? Damn. Hah, imagine that Aaron Brooks being the leading candidate for Conference POY.
  6. Washington beat an Aaron Brooks-less Oregon so UCLA is alone atop the Pac-10.
  7. Tigres beat the Navegantes 6-0, box: C H. Blanco 0/3, K (3), BB (1) SS R. Cedeño 1/2, 2 R, 2B (1), 2 BB (3), K (2) Overall (Finals): Henry Blanco (Navegantes): 1/8, .125/.222/.125/.347, 1 BB, 3 K Ronny Cedeño (Tigres): 1/7, .143/.400/.286/.686, 1 2B, 3 BB, 2 K
  8. He signed a Major league contract, so they had to add him, I believe. Correct. They were obliged to add him when they signed him to the major-league contract. Have they dropped anyone yet? (I'd think Coats is the obvious choice.)
  9. UCLA beats Cal 62-46 thanks in part to 25 points (20 in the second half) from Arron Afflalo. Up next: Stanford at Maples. UCLA will have their hands full with the Lopez' twins. Oregon losing to U-Dub in the first half, USC losing to Stanford big at halftime, WSU up late at home against Oregon State.
  10. The Tampa game was the only time.
  11. As a decoy or in a simplistic play, yeah. But as carniby said, he needs to be working on not muffing/fumbling.
  12. Does Myers still project to be a useful player? Is that the same Mohoney that used to be a Cub? Probably not. He was a reach by the Diamondbacks, apparently he has learned how to catch too so that might be helpful. Same Mahoney.
  13. RHP Cory Bailey (age 36) 1B Jason Hart (29) C Mike Mahoney (34) OF Tony Miller (26) IF Corey Myers (26; former 4th overall pick) IF-OF Derek Wathan (30) C Kevin Cirrachi (28) LHP Edgar Omana (23)
  14. That's fine, but to act as though Rex is the worst QB to ever start in the Super Bowl is ridiculous and shows the general nature of the anti-Rex sentiment in the nation. ETA: Or they're just stupid.
  15. Richmond is bad, bad news. Arizona snapped their 3-game losing streak with a win against ASU in Tempe yesterday. UCLA vs. Cal in Berkeley today. Luc Richard should be back in the lineup.
  16. No brawls for Ronny today. Tigres beat the Navegantes 8-5, box: SS R. Cedeño 0/5, K (1) C H. Blanco 1/2, K (2) 1B T. Pérez 0/4, 2 K (2) Overall (Finals): Henry Blanco (Navegantes): 1/5, 2 K Tomás Pérez (Navegantes): 0/7, 2 K Ronny Cedeño (Tigres): 0/5, 1 BB, 1 K
  17. I doubt it, especially since Rivera isn't on the same page as Angelo and isn't big on the Cover-2. Why is Lovie the lowest paid coach? Because he's on his first coaching contract, it doesn't necessarily mean the Bears are cheap (they are).
  18. St. Louis doesn't have a very good system, but that has to be a pretty awful list to not have at least Rasmus on it, if not Garcia too. I like Garcia more than Rasmus, at least one of them should be on the list.
  19. I really don't see Samardzija fast-tracking. He has a lot to learn, especially since he didn't put as much time into baseball as most college prospects. I think 2009 is more likely. And few players are as quick to the big leagues as Prior in this day and age (9 minor league starts before reaching the big leagues).
  20. Crap, don't know why i had Izzy listed as a DT in that scenario. He'd be back at the ends with Tommie and Dusty back. I'm not sure what Scott's free agent status is (RFA or UFA), but I'd like them to keep him if it's not too costly. Without a doubt, I want Ian back. He gives them a different look at DT than guys like Tommie and Tank.
  21. Peterson could be just find as a change of pace back. The reason I'd trade Ogunleye is that he's the oldest D end on the team. It's not that I want to get rid of him, but he hasn't been as good as I'd hoped he'd be, and with Anderson around, Wale seems to be the expendable one on the line. Not to argue whether or not we should keep Wale (I'm sort of on the fence about that), but if they do, the Bears are going to have amazing depth on the line next year w/Dusty and Tommie. Brown, Wale, Anderson at the ends... Tommie, Tank, Dusty Dvoracek, Scott, Idonije, Boone at the tackles... Wow  Then, I'd like to pick up a safety and some offensive line help in the draft. Maybe a tight end. Perhaps a QB (just because) in the later rounds. They need to phase in some young o-linemen over the next few drafts. Idonije will just go over to DE and remember, Scott is a FA (or is he a RFA?).
  22. They had the Cubs at 15 last year.
  23. BA ranked the Cubs' system 18th overall.
