  1. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute's dad was supposed to fly in from Cameroon to see his son play organized basketball for the first time - but instead, had eye problems and had to have surgery in Geneva. :|
  2. I suggest that if the Houston pick isn't made by 2 pm CT, we make the pick for them and move on.
  3. We're back and updated, in time for the new minor league season!
  4. Prior4CyYoung and the Houston Texans are on the board.
  5. Jrue Holiday - one of the top recruits for 2008, with UCLA, UNC and Washington as his likely top 3 schools - will be at the Final Four along with his good friend (and UCLA 08 commit) Jerime Anderson.
  6. I'd like to see Marshall at Iowa, but otherwise it looks good. Too bad Veal can't get an Opening Day nod. I expect it will be Marshall or Walrond. Maybe Marmol if he isn't in the pen. Definitely don't think it will be Randy Wells.
  7. What-the argument that Prior at this point has let some things get to him mentally, and that doesn't make him soft but just human with all the things that have happened to him (he's gone through more scrutiny then most people have their whole careers combined), but there are other people in the majors who are a little soft mentally, and just because they are in the majors doesn't exclude those players from that distinction? I don't see how that is so hard to believe. Because the road to the majors is pretty tough - it already weeds out the mentally "soft" players.
  8. We might need to talk.
  9. And, aww...didn't have UCLA in the TNT studio?
  10. I don't think anyone did. Sorry.
  11. That certainly was horrible.
  12. No faith in Dempster? (It's a suggestion only - and I don't agree with that.)
  13. Why do you bother, TT? *Not talking about your most recent post.
  14. Oh, that'd have been so sweet if TT could have finished the dunk.
  15. Sweetpeteman and the Redskins are on the board.
  16. What about those comments make him soft? Did you hear him accepting responsibliity and saying that he has more work to do to get where he needs to be? No, he was trying to make a veiled point with his repeated use of the word "employee". What has he shown you in the past almost half decade to make you think that he has an ounce of mental toughness? How about actually going back on the mound after getting a 100MPH screaming line drive STRAIGHT to his right elbow. Seriously some people go waaay overboard with this "prior mental toughness" stuff. . Or getting rocked on the basepath. Or pitching a huge amount his first full year. Nooooooooooo, "Prior's soft." And getting right back on the mound after that collision.

  19. I'm thinking your list might be more accurate, as the one Cubs.com provides doesn't include the years of 1946-51, which according to your source, are as follows, Catalina Island, CA-1951-1952(?) Los Angeles, CA-1948-1949 Catalina Island, CA-1946-1947 It seems that the Cubs moved from Catalina Island to Mesa sometime between 1951 and 1952, though your source isn't clear as to when this move took place. We should try to get to the bottom of this and then just edit the first post for a comprehensive NSBB list. I think you might have misread - 1951 was the last spring they were at Catalina and they moved to Mesa for the 1952 spring. That's what I gathered from that list. My list, broken down chronologically:
  20. I posted a very similar list in the game thread a few minutes ago (sans Selma, Alabama - that wasn't on my list and I didn't know about that). My list seems to disagree with you on a few, but I'd guess that the Cubs' own site would know what's up. I wish they'd come back to Pasadena...it'd be so awesome to have to only drive 5 minutes to go to spring training. Oh, and spring training in Champaign or in Indiana has to suck.
