  1. How was the velocity on his pitches? There are no radar readings readily available here. We'll have to get the readings later, but he looked appreciably better this time out. His defense let him down, ran up his pitch count and probably cost him an inning of work. How far away would you guess he is from pitching in the rotation? 2-3 weeks to a month. Ahh, that's not too bad considering he's around 60 pitches right now.
  2. Bottom 3RD B:0 S:0 O:0 Henry Blanco reaches on fielding error by third baseman Garrett Atkins. Henry Blanco to 2nd. Bottom 3RD B:0 S:0 O:0 Offensive Substitution: Pinch hitter Kyle Reynolds replaces Mark Prior. Bottom 3RD B:0 S:0 O:1 Kyle Reynolds flies out to right fielder Steve Finley. Bottom 3RD B:0 S:0 O:1 Alfonso Soriano homers (1) on a fly ball to left field. Henry Blanco scores. Bottom 3RD B:0 S:0 O:2 Cesar Izturis grounds out, second baseman Kazuo Matsui to first baseman Todd Helton. Bottom 3RD B:0 S:0 O:3 Derrek Lee grounds out, shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to first baseman Todd Helton.
  3. Check out the Great American Dream Vote thread in Social... link I really should pay more attention to those Social threads.
  4. Aww, only 60 pitches. Thanks, Bruce! 3 IP, 3 ER, 0 R, 2 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 2 WP Am I dyslexic or are you? Grr. 3 IP, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 2 WP
  5. Helton and Holliday surely did help prior right there.... i wonder how many pitches we will go today? Gameday's pitch counts are off. They are assuming all contact is made on the first pitch, all strikeouts are happening on 3 pitches and walks on 4 pitches.
  6. Aww, only 60 pitches. Thanks, Bruce! 3 IP, 0 ER, 3 R, 2 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 2 WP
  7. Top 3RD B:4 S:0 O:0 Garrett Atkins walks. Top 3RD B:0 S:0 O:1 Todd Helton pops out to third baseman Aramis Ramirez in foul territory. Top 3RD B:0 S:0 O:2 Matt Holliday pops out to second baseman Mark DeRosa. Top 3RD B:1 S:0 O:2 With Steve Finley batting, wild pitch by Mark Prior, Garrett Atkins to 2nd. Top 3RD B:1 S:3 O:3 Steve Finley strikes out swinging. Mark Prior: 3 IP, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K/2 BB, 2 WP
  8. No runs scored off Prior in the third!
  9. Garrett Atkins with the leadoff walk.
  10. Another long wait for an update. Not good. :(
  11. I wonder if Rockies fans huddle around their computers with bated breath waiting for the bottom of the inning to be updated to see how Cook pitched.
  12. Good to hear (though I don't like the missing high on his FB bit). Thanks!!
  13. Thanks, Bruce. How has he looked, is he improving from his last time out despite the defense?
  14. According to Gameday, he's only thrown 19 pitches. :D Yeah, I don't think they're doing a good job of tracking the number of pitches.
  15. A 1-2-3 second inning for Cook: Bottom 2ND B:0 S:0 O:1 Jacque Jones grounds out, second baseman Kazuo Matsui to first baseman Todd Helton. Bottom 2ND B:0 S:0 O:2 Cliff Floyd grounds out, second baseman Kazuo Matsui to first baseman Todd Helton. Bottom 2ND B:0 S:0 O:3 Mark DeRosa grounds out, shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to first baseman Todd Helton.
  16. A single, a double, a walk, a wild pitch...and then two two-base errors and another throwing error. Not sure we can fault Prior, not knowing what's going on down there.
  17. Cliff Floyd should never play in the OF. Good gracious. Top 2ND B:0 S:0 O:0 Troy Tulowitzki doubles (1) on a fly ball to center fielder Alfonso Soriano. Top 2ND B:0 S:0 O:1 Chris Iannetta grounds out, third baseman Aramis Ramirez to first baseman Derrek Lee. Top 2ND B:0 S:0 O:2 Aaron Cook bunt pops out to pitcher Mark Prior. Top 2ND B:0 S:0 O:2 Willy Taveras reaches on fielding error by left fielder Cliff Floyd. Troy Tulowitzki scores. Willy Taveras to 2nd. Top 2ND B:0 S:3 O:3 Kazuo Matsui strikes out swinging. Mark Prior: 2 IP, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K/1 BB, 1 WP
  18. Given how long it's taking Gameday to update the top of the second, I don't think we'll be seeing good news. They generally take this long when runs are scored. :(
  19. Navin... where did you find that ? On the top of the new Gameday that Anze Kopitar linked (right next to the pic of Prior) - but I think CubColtPacer is right about Gameday being wrong with those pitch count figures.
  20. More from Prior's first: 12 pitches (8 strikes)
  21. That's how it's been going all spring - it seems like they normally wait for the inning to finish and just spit it all out at once.
  22. Bottom 1ST B:0 S:0 O:1 Alfonso Soriano grounds out, shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to first baseman Todd Helton. Bottom 1ST B:0 S:0 O:2 Cesar Izturis grounds out, third baseman Garrett Atkins to first baseman Todd Helton. Bottom 1ST B:4 S:0 O:2 Derrek Lee walks. Bottom 1ST B:0 S:0 O:3 Aramis Ramirez flies out to center fielder Willy Taveras. 2-0 Colorado after 1 inning.
