    A Cardinals question: How has Rick Ankiel has looked hitting? Do you think he'll make it back to the big leagues as a hitter?

    I totally agree. Batter's don't make hitting adjustments based on where they bat in the lineup. It makes no difference where he bats, just as it had nothing to do with his stuggles this year. Once the game starts, your approach for each AB is determined by the situation. I don't buy that Corey's problem was he was batting in different spots. In theory, what Bobby Cox says is true. But Bobby Cox isn't the manager of the Cubs. The Cubs tried to make Corey into a slap hitter this year as part of his leadoff assignment, going as far as to change his swing last offseason, and thus making a differenec where he bats.

    Yeah, I was kind of shocked to hear Tree said that since he was drafted so high as a SS. One would assume such a high pick at SS would have a stronger arm than Moises.

    I used to agree more with Hendry in the past, I think he has shifted in the past few years - at expense to player development and the farm.

    I don't recall seeing any comments like this during Dubois's stint as starting LF, or during Patterson's slide. Good point, Corey and Jason are not amongst Dusty's favorites. Neifi is. Free Cedeño!

    The coaches changed his swing this offseason, which I think is to blame for a lot of his added problems this season. Good luck, Corey! Come back soon.

    You could check out minorleaguebaseball.com...Murton has faced Olsen in AA this season. I think I have this right - Murton is 1 for 4 with a double against Olsen. Greenberg didn't start either game against Olsen.

    Yeah, that's what happens when your 2 best hitter(Drew and Bradley) and the NL's best shortstop(Izturis) go on the DL. I feel their pain. Oh, yeah and that Gagne guy... 3 best hitters. Jeff Kent is injured too.

    Heh, Dusty is going nowhere during the season. And Dusty isn't the sole problem and firing him isn't going to solve everything. Heck, it probably won't solve anything if you fire him midseason.
