  1. Thanks, Ron! I'll set that up now.
  2. Given how big and strong Brian was in HS and still is (he's probably the strongest guy in the Cubs system), I think if he was on steroids and came off it, his power numbers would still be much higher than they have been this year. Something else is wrong with Dopirak. And just wantonly accusing players of steroid abuse without any proof is not kosher. 50% of Cubs minor leaguers might well have been on steroids, but that isn't proof that Brian Dopirak himself ever was. *Edited to add the last paragraph.
  3. Iowa: RHP Todd Wellemeyer (0-1, 5.19 ERA) vs. RHP Taylor Buccholz (6-0, 4.19 ERA) West Tenn: LHP Renyel Pinto (4-1, 2.05 ERA) @ RHP Dustin Nippert (3-1, 3.13 ERA) Daytona: LHP JR Mathes (6-4, 2.97 ERA) Peoria: RHP Jesse Estrada (4-8, 5.28 ERA) vs. LHP Ryan Ford (7-4, 4.80 ERA) Boise: LHP Darin Downs (2-0, 0.60 ERA)
  4. Right. Corey: .235/.273/.386/.659 Hank White: .157/.178/.257/.435
  5. I'll be at the LA premiere of Fantastic Four instead of watching this game. Go Cubs.
  6. While Harvey's line is a bit better, it's at a lower level and at a level Dope tore up: .263/.316/.458, 66/16 SO-BB ratio. Hopefully Dope and Harvey finish up the final two months of the season strong, but it's been a disappointing season thus far for those two. :(
  7. I am not convinced that Corey would be any different of a player if we had let him play longer in the minors. He shows no signs of every changing. Why couldn't he develop up here? It's not like he was brought up and struggled so bad that he lost his confidence and ability to progress. Corey experienced enough success to suggest he was as ready as he was ever going to be...which, unfortunately, isn't as good as we all had hoped. That being written, I still wait on Pie, even if he was healthy. Corey was rushed up without a chance to adapt and change his game, then yo-yo'ed between the major league bench at AAA. By the time he was a regular, he hadn't been given enough proper instruction on how to improve his game. Once he became a regular, he wasn't going to change what had gotten him success all his life.
  8. Per Oneri Fleita earlier this season, Felix isn't leaving AA at all this season. Hopefully Fleita sticks to his word and Felix gets about 3-4 months at AAA next year before being called up.
  9. Were they in the West, really? I don't remember that detail for some reason. ummmm...Zane Smith...Claudell Washington..Odibe Mcdowell. That's about all I have from the top of my head...Even though the Braves were much closer to where I lived in the 80's, the Cubs were still my team. They sure were in the West. Remember in 1993 when the Giants finished one game behind them and didn't make the playoffs despite winning 103 games?
  10. That's my guess too. LF at Wrigley can be a challenge, but so can CF, what with being careful with the wall. I'd rather have Hairston in LF than Hollandsworth or Dubois.
  11. Sorry for the delay, got home really late last night... Iowa: LHP John Koronka (6-6, 4.44 ERA) vs. RHP Jared Gothreaux (3-7, 4.28 ERA) West Tenn: RHP Carlos Marmol (0-1, 6.14 ERA) @ RHP Adam Bass (2-7, 3.80 ERA) Daytona: RHP Juan Mateo (5-3, 4.50 ERA) Peoria: LHP Chris Shaver (3-6, 4.32 ERA) vs. LHP Trent Peterson (0-0, 0.00 ERA) - thanks Serena Boise: LHP Jesus Yepez (0-0, 0.00 ERA, 7.1 IP)
  12. Really? I didn't hear Aramis hired Scott. :?
  13. My mom was at the game yesterday and she said she could hear the ball hitting bone. Also, yesterday they had a fireworks show after the game and they had to stop the grand finale and end the show early because fans were setting off (illegal) fireworks in the parking lot and accidentally set fire to some cars. Dodger fans crack me up.
  14. Yeah, I saw that this morning. The KCC webcast is decent. I've listened to their broadcast several times when they played Peoria b/c the volume is actually fine. The volume on Peoria's online broadcasts is evil. And Peoria's website was down last night itself, and it's still down.
  15. And Chris Shaver if you see him during warmups!
  16. I didn't like his call-up last month, but I don't see how you can pin that on the HRs he's surrendered. He was surrendering HRs at about the same rate before the call-up as after the call-up. Sorry, Diffusion. I have no clue what pitches he was throwing. But someone who throws a curveball as often as he does is likely to hang his share of them.
  17. Where does my avatar and sig combo rank, CT? :D
  18. Maybe because Clement's neck and other injuries made it easier to do so?
  19. CF Sam Fuld and SS Jason Simokaitis? Thanks!
  20. Thanks, Brian. Harvey looks kinda thin, especially for a guy who can hit HRs across the street.
  21. I can't view your pics. It's asking for your password...
  22. That was the one game in that series I wasn't at. I was at the Friday and Saturday games. I'll never forget that series, with Hollandsworth's game-tying HR followed by an extra inning win on Friday, and Pratt and Farnsworth gift-wrapping the Saturday game for the Braves (with Grandpa Franco's HR). Franco didn't HR. He doubled to RF after fouling off a bajillion pitches.
  23. Iowa: RHP Jon Leicester (1-2, 4.96 ERA) @ RHP Jared Gothreaux (3-7, 4.28 ERA) West Tenn: RHP Ricky Nolasco (7-0, 2.89 ERA) vs. Enrique Gonzalez (8-4, 3.78 ERA) Daytona: Yorkin Ferreras (0-2, 10.13 ERA) Peoria: RHP Grant Johnson (1-1, 3.27 ERA) vs. RHP Tony Evans (4-0, 1.32 ERA) Boise: RHP Mitch Atkins (0-1, 7.00 ERA, 9 IP) To everyone going to Geneva, enjoy the game and go Chiefs!
