  1. Hendry won't go after a guy like Guillen, he likes the high-character guys.
  2. I hope the Cubs ink him as a draft-and-follow. He seems very exciting/intriguing.
  3. I though it might be time to start re examing where things stand. The bolded players have already been added to the 40 man roster. * I don't see Van Buren on the list but he's on the 40 man as well It's hard to imagine exposing Sing or Pie. I doubt they'll protect Dopirak. Tim, did you put the pitchers in most likely to be drafted order? Ryu is probably safe but the Cubs should protect Nolasco. Could a team effectively hide Marshall? I think a team could easily hide Marshall. Or Marmol.
  4. I don't know that I'd ever want to be formerly known as a Cards fan in Chicago. :)
  5. Senior starting WR Junior Taylor, UCLA's top WR, is out for the season with a torn ACL (hurt it making a catch on the second play of the OU game). :( UCLA ranked for the first time since 2003 (Bob Toledo's last year). 25 in the AP, 23 in USA Today. :D  Oh, and 5 teams from the Pac-10 in the top 25...USC, Cal, Arizona State, Oregon, UCLA.
  6. If you have the kind of money Giles has, there is nothing crappy about Southern California. Also, his current team is likely to make the playoffs, while Chicago clearly isn't. From a non-Cub-biased view, the Padres are already home, already a "contender", and probably will make a good offer. If he leaves SD for Chicago, there is a legitimate argument that can be made to say he goes only for more money (and not because he wants to win). One reason he might want to leave San Diego is he (amongst other Padres) is still an outspoken critic of Petco. He might want to play at a better hitter's ballpark (though he doesn't need to leave Southern California for that).
  7. .286/.412/.520 at the time of injury is badly slumping?
  8. Uhh wow, USC beat Arkansas 70-17. This with the second and third-stringers playing most of the second half.
  9. Indeed. Thank you, Outshined.
  10. U$C up 28-10 in the 2nd quarter, getting ready to hang another 7 on Arkansas.
  11. Yeah, if that was the play call, I'd have kicked the FG.
  12. Yes I did (last play I watched of that game).
  13. Bomar had a solid second half passing, but the fumbles really killed him. Most of his completions came on the drives OU scored. To be fair to Adrian Peterson, he was injured most of the game (hamstring).
  14. At least my school won today. Can't say the same about South Carolina or Illinois, can we? Anyone see the end of the Nebraska-Pitt game? Pitt lines up for a FG, down 7-6. The holder wasn't ready for the snap, apparently, and the ball hit him smack in the head. It was hilarious to watch in slow motion. The kicker or holder recovered and threw the ball away - apparently it wasn't a 4th down, so Pitt got to try the FG again. This time, their FG was blocked, and Pitt falls to 0-3 after a 7-6 loss.
  15. Poor UK/dobson, etc. UK down 17-0 at the half to IU.
  16. And thanks, Cal, for finally showing up.
  17. Hahahahaha, wow!
  18. Barely not a safety.
  19. What the heck? You pick that up off the bounce? MSU deserves to lose.
  20. At least you don't hold grudges. Can you hold a grudge for something that happened before you were born? Mind you, in a different sport. :) This will probably piss Jon off, but I think I'm rooting for ND for my cousin's sake.
  21. Wow, fumble. MSU = chokers.
