  1. I hope they rigged the showers so that mud came out. Either that, or warm water, but with sugar or something in it so they were all sticky.
  2. We're fast cuz we have holes in our helmets. Those will win a couple games this year. Add another couple from the helmets when they keep our white guys cool during hot summer games.
  3. After the White Sox game, heres a stat line from one of my players: McCarthy IP- 3.0 W-1 L-0 SV-0 K-2 ERA-0.00 WHIP-0.00 K/9-6.00 K/BB- INFINITY Can't beat that.
  4. If there were one thing that keeps us in the running that is it. By mid season some of our pitching prospects may have reached high profile again. If Epatt does well and some guys like Moore/Dopriak/Harvey do well maybe we could be in the running. All that is doubtful though.
  5. Not with all the time Wood and Prior will miss :( With them missing a bunch of time Z is our only big HR threat from the staff.
  6. Maybe NY can pay for a new stadium. Is that a legal transaction? Willis and Cabrera for a 40,000 seat stadium. If you count the stadium cost as part of the Yanks payroll it would be over 1 billion dollars, only a slight increase in their current payroll.
  7. Actually that 2004 bench looked ok going into the year but that bench didnt turn out as great. Hollandsworth was great, but got hurt. Martinez and Goodwin's production dropped significantly and Martinez battled some nagging injuries, if I recall. The AGONZ injury brought along the likes of Rey Ordonez and Damian Jackson. So even though going into 2004 looked okay going into the season, it turned out pretty bad. Maybe this years bench will turn out the same, looks good, but doesn't live up to expectations. With most of the guys being young they hopefully will improve and not decline.
  8. Mabry does not have very much power. And this is not the best Cubs team in years. The 2003 team had much more talent, especially when they added Aramis mid-season. The team that went into 04, with Sosa, Alou, Aram, Lee, Walker, Barrett, Patterson (off a good 1/2 season), and got even more talented adding Nomar. When he said the best we have had in years I think he was referring to just the bench. So using the starters as an example doesn't help the argument. 2003 Bench Bako, Karros/Choi/Simon, Harris, O'Leary, Goodwin, Martinez 2004 Bako, Goodwin, Maritnez, Macias, Hollandsworth, Walker/Grudz 2005 Blanco, Macias, Hairston, Dubious/Hollandsworth, Perez 2006 Blanco, Perez, Mabry, Hairston, Pagan, Bynum I'd say thats the best we've had the past few years. In 2003 and 2005 we had RH and LH power bats, but that was through platoons so we really only had one available on the bench at a time becuase the other was starting. That beng said a power RH woluld be better than Bynum. I assume we go back to a 5 man bench soon anyway though so someone is gone. Still better than we've had.
  9. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/snetsrak43/dark.jpg Not anymore
  10. Now he looks more cartoony http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/snetsrak43/mabcartoon.png
  11. Heres newly aquired Freddie Bynum in a Cubs hat, instead of A's http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/snetsrak43/freddie.jpg
  12. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/snetsrak43/pierre.jpg Isn't that so much better?
  13. Last one for tonight http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/snetsrak43/dope.jpg
  14. New Maddux picture: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/snetsrak43/maddog.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/snetsrak43/glen.jpg Glendon also loves the new look.
  15. Maybe someone got their Cubs CF mixed up and the PTBNL is Kendrick. I kid. Interesting though that some cub.com posts a bogus rumor about being trade partners with the Angels and it turns out we already sent them a CF.
  16. So its shaping up to be: SP Zambrano Maddux Rusch Williams RP Dempster Howry Eyre Williamson Wuertz Ohman Wellymeyer (Maybe Ryu instead of Ohman?) C-Barrett C-Blanco 1B-Lee 2B-Walker 2B-Hairston 3B-Ramirez SS-Cedeno LF-Murton CF-Pierre RF-Jones Mabry OF/1B/3B Perez SS/2B Pagan Which leaves one spot for a position player. Grissom could be that guy, but we'd need to clear a spot on the 40 man for him, and apparently we already need to clearf one for Miller. Wellymeyer could get trader or just taken off and claimed on waivers, but at 40 men we would still need to clear another spot if we wanted Grissom AND Miller. They may be able to take Koronka off the 40 man and not lose him. The same could go with Aardsma. Otherwise it looks like Theriot could break camp with the big league team. Looking ahead to April 15, when we need a 5th starter, they could use Ryu if he is already with the team and no movement needed. At that time they could send back down Theriot for Marshall/Guzman/Hill and go with 12 pitchers. If Wellymeyer is on the team, I would thin he could be traded to clear a spot an still go with 11 pitchers. My guess would be Theriot goes down and we see the 12 man staff.
  17. 10 teams R, HR, RBI, SB, TB, AVG, OBP, W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, K/9 C-Barrett 1B-Dunn (OF) 2B-Giles 3B-Cabrera (OF) SS-Cedeno OF-Tracy (1B) OF-Giles OF-Clark UTIL-Lamb (1B,OF,3B) UTIL-Vizquel (SS) BN- Klesko (OF) BN-Aurillia (2B,SS,3B) BN-Cruz (OF) P-Zambrano P-Pettite P-Smoltz P-Lieber P-Maddux P-Odalis Perez P-H. Ramirez P-Merker P-Glavine P-Lidle BN-Kolb BN-W. Miller I think I did alright. Coulda done better on pitching, but I'll be searching the waiver wire once the season starts.
  18. I think something like this would be better as an alternate. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v313/snetsrak43/cubbyalt.jpg
  19. I created a yahoo league with some custom settings. Its a lot different than a normal league so check it out and see if you like it. I may be open to change in settings. Right now I have a draft set for March 18, but if enough people sign up soon we can change that. 16 team, roto ID- 191323 password- playball roster- C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, IF, IF, LF, CF, RF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, P, P, P, BN, DL, DL, DL, DL, DL stats- R, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, BB, TB, OBP, SLG, IP, W, CG, SHO, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, K/BB, K/9 I know most of you may need to conserve how many leagues you join, but if you need another come on and join.
  20. I think they should keep the pinstipes and gray and search for a new alternate.
  21. I believe I've seen even less than that Vance.
  22. Is there an easy way to figure out the whole draft by order? Like it is simply listed on yahoo?
  23. Marshall! :D AWESOME  anybody else dissapointed that they used Pie at leadoff though, plz don't make us compare him to corey more than we already do :( Dusty: Dude's fast. Gotta put him at the top of the order.
