You didn't mention OLB, which as of now we need to keep Houston for depth, where most thought he would be cut. At the very least we need to be resigning Acho, but I would think its a position to watch. I'm thinking about Solomon Thomas at 3. I know a lot of people are thinking if him as a Justin Smith DE if he adds 10 pounds, but I think he could stay where he is now and move around as a UTIL type front 7 guy. No idea where to estimate our cap depth until we know Cooper's and Wheaton's deals. Keep in mind though, our draft pool is pretty large at 10M, and we're not going to spend right up to the cap limit. Royal is probably a goner at this point at $5M, but that probably just gets us the buffer space, all else being equal.

I'd love to trade down a bit and get someone from a group of Solomon Thomas, one of the safeties or Lattimore. Seems like they're all a bit below the third pick in terms of value. Im leaning Thomas if not one of the QBs, though I may yet change my mind 20 times by draft day.

Well it became a necessity when he struck out on most of his top targets. Can this hypothetical WR returm kicks? Would have preferred only one of Wright or Wheaton + Patterson I wonder if we're even out on Patterson? I know Wheaton can return kicks, but I'd kind of like to see Patterson still added......Granted, that doesn't leave room for a WR thru the draft. If that WR could replace Bellamy on ST, theres a spot for them. Also, Kyle is worried about bullying. Sounds like serious lockerroom issues

Best two years were with Loggains. WR and CB are looking crowded (albeit underwhelming) and Wheaton and Leblanc look like the only KR and PR options (assuming Royal is released).

They just had a second meeting with Jonathan Allen. While I agree that CB seems out at 3, I don't think it means anything as far as taking a QB there either.....I think Allen(if they aren't scared by the arthritis) or Adams is much more likely than a QB myself.....Or a trade down, if remotely possible. And really like the Cooper move. Wonder if they're looking at Butler as a S? Patterson visited today too. Agreed, I dont think it implicity means a QB. I hope it doesn't implicitly mean no CB either if thats BPA (whether Rd1 or 2). After all were talking about a couple vets on a 1 and 2 year deal, a failed first rounder, and a couple UDFA who are interesting but ultimately just guys..

And Marcus Cooper a Bear. Fairly busy day all in all, and there are A LOT of DB's right now. ETA- 3 year deal, so they probably figure him to be a pretty substantial part of the CB plans. I'm just waiting for the Kyle Fuller for a 2018 7th round pick trade...

Also Christian Jones resigned today to a one year deal. They probably are done with the ILB group unless there is just a great draft value. Proabbly just will bring in some UDFA and Training Camp fodder).

More of an inside/nickel I think. They're clearly still active on DBs which is interesting considering the draft depth and our current depth. Wonder if Porter could be cut (~3m savings). Perhaps a Fuller trade for a late pick too. They seem to like LeBlanc amd Callahan even though both project as nickel/ST guys. And McManis has been a favorite for a long time as a ST contributor.

So apparently the Alshon Jeffery contract is only 9.5 guaranteed. The other 4.5 is incentives. I'm pretty stunned honestly. Even if he was dead set on leaving Bears, that seems like a low offer. His old WR coach, Groh is there. And maybe he's banking on that + Wentz getting his biggest payday?

I can't say I would have been happy (all things considered). Wonder how much extra value NO would consider that 5th year option on pick number 32... Good point. The pick a year later hurts the value, but I have no idea how THATs truly valued either. But, the 4th the Saints are sending back, could be kept by them too. Its probably extremely close value. Which would weight it towards the Pats, based on the extra year, the more I think about it. I'm just wanting a damn move or two tonight. Realistically things are gonna extend into the middle and end of next weekend. Any other big movers other than Pryor tonight?

Poor metric to measure velocity IMO. You have to inspect the receivers handa for cross impressions to truely know how hard he threw it.

No sane receivers would take a prove it contract to play with this garbage offense. Agree on that. But, I can't imagine he'd have turned his nose up at 3/36 or so. 3/36 would have been a lot, but I did quote that as my high end this morning. We need two more weapons at least and then try to get by largely based on deception and spreading the ball around. A true pass catching TE in the draft and a RB who can share the field with Howard by lining up in the slot and the backfield (alomg with Langford filling a similar role). Add another WR as competiton as well.

Pryor left WAS without deal, but I'm not seeing many Bears rumblings either... just one source from yesterday I think, some guy Erik Lambert, no idea if hes legit; writes for Sports Mockery.
