  1. Carpenter sometime around the break. Not sure on Mulder, I've heard he's been struggling in rehab starts or something. Either way, I wouldn't expect either of them to make much of an impact.
  2. Roberts isnt a great option to lead off either He actually is. I hate the reference to "lead off" and I'll just say that he's a very good hitting 2B and is a great option anywhere. Don't go crazy with a month's worth of stats this year (that aren't even bad).
  3. Who cares about defense in that scenario. That puts the Tigers lineup to shame. While I'm all about the "fielding doesn't matter all that much" school of thought, I'm not in love with the idea of signing guys to huge contracts and putting them in positions they've never or barely played before.
  4. Teix has played like 15-20 games at RF in his career and hasn't in like 4 years.
  5. Why? Because if the rumors start flying that he'll up payroll to $175M in one year, it's going to make it likely additional owners would vote against him. True. I would hope nobody would pick up and run with some complete speculation on a Saturday talk radio show, but I guess I've seen far stranger things (understatement).
  6. Or a division that sucks so bad that you win it with like 83 wins and then a hot streak in the playoffs. Their "consistency" would've been good for around 3rd place and no playoff appearance in most divisions.
  7. We're on ESPN tomorrow night, right? Then again, it's freaking Marquis, isn't it?
  8. It's not always a bad thing to do...especially if you're a guy who is known for having patient ABs and taking lots of pitches. As long as his overall approach is what it is, I have no problem with it. You have to change it up sometimes or they're just gonna pump strike one past you every AB.
  9. Ah. And I just remembered I had 40 bucks on this game...which I had forgotten through all the euphoria of the Soriano bomb....
  10. i know, and usually LH hitters crush LHP it's weird how fuku's stats against LHP is so much worse than RHP. I'm really confused and/or don't get this joke.
  11. So... next inning (if we get there) DeRo, Soto, Johnson Not bad for the bottom of the order.
  12. Hopefully (probably), Fuku can at least battle and have a good AB.
  13. Got hit in the wrist. Looked ugly but stayed in the game and then was taken out. I'm really hoping we're not being Gallardo-ed on this.
  14. I wasn't on here earlier. Can anyone explain why Fontenot came in when Ronny was already in the game? Ri-freaking-diculous.
  15. Hit by a pitch on the hand. Didn't look very good, but nobody really knows anything yet. Ouch. Also, skimming through here it seems like Soriano has had a particularly bad game. I read about the missed flyballs, what else has he done bad? Fixed
  16. I'm sure you had no idea that what is being said in the game thread is generally taken in context of the current game. SCREW YOU KEVIN HART!!! GOD YOU SUCK SO MUCH WITH THAT 5.06 ERA THIS SEASON!!
  17. Um, what the hell is wrong with those of you who are criticizing Howry?
  18. Same guy, methinks. I'm pretty sure also got screwed by the umps out of really dominating that category.
