  1. tommie said he had his knee scoped in march and all they found was scar tissue... nothing wrong there said his hamstrings were a bit tight so he didn't practice today source: zaidman and biggs tweets
  2. lol tommie in full pads today but no action from him whatsoever.
  3. And the guy played by far more snaps than anyone on that line last year.
  4. What's the talk? If it's not based on some new development that I haven't heard yet, people have been trying to make something out of nothing (especially MacNeil) with that for a while. It's known that Tommie Harris has a bad knee. Who doesn't know this? This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. I don't know why people are at all surprised that they're giving him a very light workload. If he was hurt, they wouldn't have even have him doing the individual work he's doing. I suppose if those guys were under some kind of delusion that Tommie was truly healthy and didn't have a bum knee, then I can see why they're worried. He's not the same guy. They're going to have to take whatever precautions they can to have him be a productive player for the rest of his career.
  5. Also, don't forget that Cutler is the Sunday Conversation on SportsCenter tonight. I think the interview is already available on ESPN.com.
  6. Bears 2008 Yearbook will be on ESPN2 at 1:30... just a heads up.
  7. Also a guy Cutler has praised quite a few times in interviews the past week or so. Refers to him as, "DA."
  8. This does little to dispute the notion that Cutler isn't really looking Davis's way much (if he's even in there with him). http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/2405
  9. It looks like Cutler is taking a liking (has mentioned him in a few interviews and has thrown the ball quite a bit to him lately) to Devin A. also. If he makes the roster, Rashied would have to be the odd man out. I think Cutler really has a say in this and he really hasn't talked up Davis much at all.
  10. I think Rashied Davis is gonna have a hard time making this team... Hester, Bennett - Locks Rideau seems like a lock at this point given how much Cutler seems to like him and the fact that he's slotted #3 Iglesias, Knox - Draft picks this year...they'll make the team Not a lot of room And Jay doesn't seem to talk much about him. I feel kinda bad for him even though he sucks...he did make some big catches in 06... but I still would rather not have him on the team.
  11. He didn't seem to string together 3, 4 INTs quickly. Which Grossman did. I think that will end a QB's relationship with Bear fans pretty quick. Also, they called for Orton. They booed Rex to get Orton on the field. It would be nauseatingly hypocritical if they then called for Orton's head right away. They had to give him some rope. Overall though, I do think Orton's '08 was better than what Rex was going to do post 1st half of '06. Once Rex went down, there was no way back. Not with our coaching staff being unable to break him out of it, and not with the fans throwing death threats his way. He was done once he had those bad games and the fans turned on him. We just didn't know it for a year or so. They booed Orton off the field after the first half vs. Atlanta and gave a standing O when Rex came in... As for the picks, Orton threw plenty of bad INTs...the reason he didn't throw more was because they called a much more conservative game plan for him... and FWIW, I'll take Rex's 06 (and he still had 4 100 rated games and 2 80's out of 10 games) over Orton's 08, ratings be damned. It just so happened that Rex had 2 or 3 super horrendous (like ratings of 0 and 1) games that made his numbers look worse, including one in a completely meaningless game (plus he it was NYE and stuff ;) ). That was in '05. Doesn't count. lol and d'oh... that should've read 4 100 rated games and 2 80's after Arizona... obviously he had more 100 games than that.
  12. This makes sense although it's still unfair to Grossman given the fact that he had some pretty significant physical limitations that made it harder for him to be great. But I agree.
  13. but we have Jay Cutler now so screw both those crappy dudes.

  15. Me too. I'm still keeping up with the news but I'm not nearly as excited... I need a game to look forward to.... even then, I'm not THAT enthused about the preseason games (except for getting to take a look at a few players in particular). I want that SNF game @ Lambeau and then I want that home opener vs. the defending champs to happen already. What a way to start the season.
  16. The Broncos DO have a run game (their rushing numbers, despite having to split the carries quite a bit among a few RBs, were good - and Moreno only improves that). Just needed to clear that misconception that keeps getting repeated. No, the Broncos didn't have one guy like Forte who carried the load, but they definitely had a very productive run game. You don't score that much without one. As far as Orton goes, I never liked him so whatever. Don't know why he got treated so much better here than Grossman when he was just as bad, if not worse.
  17. Bunch of stuff from Mort's Twitter... # Smith, Urlacher & Bears are almost as thrilled to have Rod Marinelli coaching defensive line as they are to have Cutler at quarterback.about 1 hour ago from web # Urlacher was really good. Part of interview will run on SportsCenter approx. 6:35 ET and some real Bears d-linemen raided my kitchen.about 1 hour ago from web # Smith was as good as I've heard him. The interview shoud be posted excusively at espnchicago.com. Cutler's convo will run in full Sunday.about 1 hour ago from web # Looking forward to Bears scrimmage tonight in Bourbonaiss. Had good visits with Jay Cutler, Brian Urlacher & Lovie Smith earlier.about 1 hour ago from web
  18. Ugh...not on till 11:30. Record. ? I just set a reminder for 6:30. ESPN2.
  19. Yea but a lot of our players will be involved. There's an interview with Cutler and one with Urlacher and apparently some other stuff with defensive guys fooling around. I don't think anybody expects to learn anything from ESPN.
  20. Mortenson is on his TC tour and he's at Bears camp today... be sure to watch NFL Live tonight for that piece....supposed to be pretty cool.
  21. http://www.aww-kittah-aww.com/up/public/88400/cutler.JPG http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/don_banks/08/04/bears.camp/index.html?eref=sihpT1
  22. Ah, ok... makes sense. I liked him too, fwiw
  23. I saw someone wearing a Curtis Enis jersey at training camp. I'm pretty sure you can wear a Vasher. But why you'd get Ayenbadejo (and why they would even sell it) is beyond me...
  24. He was never all that great of a corner. When he was intercepting all those passes, the defensive line was great and disruptive. Line has sucked and so has Vasher.
  25. Doubt it... he's been wearing that a while... http://www.everyjoe.com/squibkick/files/2009/04/jay-cutler-nc-iosphotos055987-nfl-pro-bowl-aloha.jpg
